  1. Is it out of line to ask that you show us your liner notes and stoppers off? Record Albums have great packaging and glasses of whisky have such an alluring colour. The records, if being played, are already off the shelf, the scotch is already in the glass and you're already gonna tell us about it. Then again, this isn't instagram. No hard feelings here.
  2. Talk of packaging and autographs and how-much-you-paid without sharing photos of said record with the shots of scotch is about as lame as my asking for luck vibes on ebay auction bidding (thanks again everybody, I hope you can accept my apologies for being a douchebag on those). Remember, Make it visual, hipsters - or else, why does it even matter?
  3. What, the harmonizer/whammy sound or the echoey intro to the actual song?
  4. Well at least slap a cape on that slimy fish. I wonder if they'll break it down low and slow now and again. Those guys sure could play dynamically when they wanted to.
  5. When I think about the Flaming Lips I so rarely think about the music being so intertwined with 'drug induced ideas'...but sometimes I snap out of those moments...and remember about all the drugs that probably induced so many of the ideas tracked, edited, mastered, and pressed. Wowee that band sure sounds extra fantastic sometimes.
  6. this bluesfest lineup leaves a lot up to Folkfest and Jazzfest to shine shine shine. looks like we're halfway there.
  7. Indeed. I was thinking something more like 'God Loves' or other more reasonable statements about the essence of cosmic will, but nothing felt as good in my head as your idea. I hope somebody does that.
  8. If I had to deal with people getting in the way of me getting to work every day I'd make like a rhino too. Make the video public already. It's ridiculous and is just making it more of a spectacle. Thankyou Toronto media and PD. sheesh.
  9. Take the band's CD and rip it to FLAC... ...you're still getting a FLAC of a CD. Perhaps a majority of the music you have was converted to FLAC in the studio/mastering process but was all of it? I think there's going to be a real emphasis on official high quality rips.
  10. ...and just because you can change playback settings to 192khz/24bit in your computer, if it's not in the original format, it won't travel down the wires.
  11. Everybody's perking up because Josh's organ is gonna be at the party? Here's to his hands and feet being there too.
  12. Sleeping on an incline? Bring a hammock? Isn't that sort of a stellar fix for a high-maintenance wook?
  13. If you have a mac, iphone, ipod, or ipad Airplay is a great AppleTV feature. If you're not an apple household there's little reason to go with one over a new Roku (so I've read) ...You could always get all nerdy and make a Media centre computer with a Linux box and XBMC... My problem was more sending my signal to a non-apple device that uses DLNA instead of UPnP. I downloaded XMBC media centre, a free app, and it worked just fine after a trip to the settings menu. Not sure if you can get it for iPhone but there must be some other fix for that one. If you're into the iTunes/Apple thing then the AppleTV is probably the way to go.
  14. Ottawa JamParty? If I had a house to offer up as a place I'd be all over it.
  15. Maybe we can get a deal if we order a few. Can it come in blue?
  16. I started watching a movie on netflix that was essentially concert footage and backstage/studio footage of all the artists on the project. Great Flick Didn't want to pass out so I stopped watching...it was late. i'll get back to it sometime soon. Happy New Year, everybody reading this.
  17. So what recourse has the city to oust the lovable Mr. Ford??
  18. WTF was up with the hand clapping and arm waving during the Wailers set?
  19. While I'm completely sympathetic to the issues being experienced by the festival attendees, exactly what right to sovereignty do they think they have? I've always been amazed that festivals like this are allowed to happen in the first place. It's not a privelege to live life freely and happily. Unless someone is specifically breaking the peace or committing heinous unlawful acts, the police have no right to hassle anybody. Burning man is self-contained and remote just for that: to be of itself and sovereign. My question is: how can police be hired to stay at arms' length for an event like that?
  20. I will applaud Mr. Ford on being such a vibrant, spry, fit cocaine addict that can bust it on the rocket. Here's hoping that outcome over the other likely reality.
  21. Holy...I'd have preferred to see Wilco again over Neil for the first time (maybe not if I ever get the chance but for now ignorance is bliss), so here's hoping that they grab Wilco for an eve. What an amazing suggestion.
