  1. Would you vouch for his set? I am seriously inclining towards him for my first night selection.
  2. I reckon they are full on flirting with disaster.
  3. I also noticed that there is only a one day break, as opposed to the 2 day break they had last year.
  4. Ahem. YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Rush are extremely unlikely to ever tour again, so I'd say no.
  6. Taking Blue Rodeo off the table, who would you figure would be the most likely Canadian headliners?
  7. I am going to predict that, by the end of it, I will be incredibly sore but have had an awesome time. Optimism!
  8. John Wetton has passed Not a big surprise, I know he had been dealing with cancer for a while. They might not have been a jam band as such, but King Crimson have produced a lot of great improvisational music and John Wetton's kick ass bass was a big part of my favorite period of the band. If you haven't already, I strongly encourage checking out the albums he played on (especially Starless & Bible Black and Red).
  9. There's also that scorching take on "Isis" with Mick Ronson on guitar. Both those performances were on a bonus DVD that came with Bootleg Series 5.
  10. Damn it, I wanted to be the first with a totally unfounded Tom Petty rumour. Sorry folks, I think I might have jinxed it. Since i was going to be in Toronto, I was figuring this would be the year they finally get Tom Petty. As it turns out, I will still be in Ottawa and likely actually going to Bluesfest this year, so it probably won't happen, just to spite me. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

  12. Looks like it was the same both nights, except with an on the fly alteration (it wasn't in the physical setlist) that they didn't play I Am The Slime in the main set, but instead it was done as the first song of the encore. 13. Too late now, but I did snag the actual setlist from Friday in Ottawa, can post it when I get home.
  14. 12 Songs that have come and gone since this thread went into hiberation (July 3rd, 2011) 1. America! - Bill Callahan 2. Grenade - Bruno Mars
  15. You have to remember that these are simple farmers ... people of the land ... the common clay of the new west. You know ... morons.
  16. She was on a comp that came with an issue of Mojo Magazine, and I was able to find a compilation CD of hers at Turning Point, love her stuff.
  17. Right , and they got Weezer to provide the music.
  18. Uhhh, Vanilla Fudge, Martha? I might actually take in at least one night, just to see GbV, I only got the one chance to see them and that was 15 or so years ago.
  19. I am likely to be moving to the GTA early next year. What are the major recurring summer music festivals in Toronto? That tends to be how I plan my vacations.
  20. The grid schedule for Bluesfest has been posted. The Tribute to Jack Bruce seems to have disappeared
  21. What in the holy frick, world?
  22. I'd put Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton in the legends category. Merle is distinctly irreplaceable. RIP great man.
  23. The version of "You Don't Love Me" was available on the Dreams boxed set. The rest of the show , AFAIK, has not been officially released.
