  1. *raises hand* Not sure where other people are coming from, I am seeing stuff every day for which I am psyched. July 10th is a particularly jammed day, I know I am going to end up missing something that day from conflict. I am running the names I don't know through google and wikimapedia and my list of acts to see keeps getting longer.
  2. 49 minutes, it's official.
  3. Sweet lineup. Does anybody know for how long the Early Bird pricing usually lasts?
  4. I don't have access to Twitter here at work, can anyone fill me in?
  5. Styx was a pretty fun show when they last played. Not life changing, but an enjoyable evening of lightly prog-flavoured AOR.
  6. Not to mention a copy of Dylan, an album that has never been released on CD before ... because it is apparently the worst album of his career.
  7. Nice to finally have a commercial copy of my all time favorite Dark Star.
  8. I know. That has never happened before, I have always been able to get full passes at the gate.
  9. For all that I had to miss a few days (no full passes available at the door? an insult), I've been super happy with every show so far. I'm sure I will lose what few coolness pointes I might have, but Grand Funk was super fun.
  10. Hope Toronto Folks made it to this show, their set at Ottawa Bluesfest was killer.
  11. Yeah, hard to get a definitive ID on a photo where someone's face is completely covered.
  12. Crap. This is an unplanned expense.
  13. A great loss, not only a member of one of my all time favorite bands but also the producer of several fine albums by X. My name is Rob, and I am a Doors fan. Vaya con dios, "Hey, Man"zarek.
  14. Looks Like Rain (DP10, 77/12/29 San Francisco, CA)
  15. Actually, I am pretty happy with the layout. A few things I was worried would be conflicts are on at different times. A couple of conflicts but not as many or as bad as in times past.
  16. Jacob Moon is a great singer songwriter from Hamilton that I saw opening at Marillion Weekend a few weeks ago. He will be playing in Ottawa at Dominion Chalmers United on Sunday, April 28th. When I saw him, he did a lot of cool guitar loops and covered Let Down by Radiohead and Subdivisions by Rush (complete with spoken word sample straight from Neil Peart himself). It was a great show and I heartily recommend anyone to check him out. His official website
  17. Peter Banks, original guitar player for Yes, passed away from heart failure. An underrated musician, fans of prog rock should check out his playing on the first Yes album.
  18. A criminally underrated guitar player.
  19. A great man, a great entertainer and a great Canadian.
  20. Very sad news, ALS is a horrible thing to deal with, especially for a musician. Vay con dios, DDT.
  21. Finally get to tick BB King and Eric Burdon off my bucket list. Glad to finally make up for missing Los Lobos. Caught a little bit of Neko Case but wasn't feeling well so glad I can finally see a full set. Looking forward to Grand Funk, JSBX, Zac Brown, She & Him and even Dixie Chicks. Have seen Rush, Stars and Blue King Brown before, looking forward to seeing them again. This might even be the year I actually go to Great Big Sea.
  22. I am pleased with the line up ... there isn't a lot of "Oh my God, I have been waiting all my life to see them" but there is a lot of good, and just a bunch of enjoyable stuff all round. Only disappointment is no Prog Rock so far. Even last year had Tangerine Dream. As usual, I encourage folks to check out Blue King Brown, they always give good show.
  23. Since Neil Young and Pearl Jam have already been mentioned, I might as well go ahead and start a Tom Petty rumour.
