  2. Good Luck. Take some responsibility for the fact that this sea of drama is your own. I am just sea sick and hurling over the gunnels.
  3. You are all completely off your nut. From how you lay it out William I'm supposed to say something like 'respectfully guys in Chameleon Project, and I've got mad love for your whole thing and totally dig on how you really build a break and get the crowd going (a total lie). I really love how the audience is so into what they're doing (while whacked on E, Ketamine and Cocaine- another total lie). Maybe you guys could try doing something maybe a little more socially conscious and less drug oriented and people might appreciate that a bit more'. First of all that is riddled with lies, second it is not me or my style, third of all it completely betrays the fact that I actually know what the fuck I'm talking about and make a living at it. As for questions surrounding my credibility whether StoneMtn. (and in all fairness I could care less about what a hippy lawyer from Vancouver thinks - I mean really I just don't even give a remote shit- you all apparently obsessed with what others think) or others. I'm not concerned about my crebility in the jamband scene or any other scene. I have a lot of crebibility, I'm a credible resource precisely because I don't lay on the sunshine vibe like JayDawg (who is a paid publicist and promoter who is in the business of saying endlessly nice things about artists he may or not believe in - God Made Me Funky is for instance an absolutely awful group and yet he sings their praises - he is in fact paid to). I don't get paid to speak my mind as I have here. In fact I have to pay for it by attending to the plebian concerns of ignorant people who type well before they think.
  4. You are right. Because this crowd is delusional and in denial about their drug and alcohol addictions I should renounce the last ten years of my life and give up all credibility I have built in this scene. I care I really care. That is the problem. Im looking at the man in the mirror. Why dont all of you?
  5. Sorry I thought he was D Rock. I'm not fishing or phishing William. You're a good guy but not a very good promoter. I brought Jay into the fold of concert promotion in Nova Scotia. Let's not forget who was in this game ages ago and who is just a bank roll. Take some responsibility for the fact that you let the crowd get over capacity and that the crowd was more out of their mind than any jamband show or rave I've attended in ages.
  6. Hey D Rawk why don't you stay in PEI and continue ripping off musicians for their livelihood. For the record both Evolve Festival and Shoreline festival left behind massive debts this year. For instance the Wassabi Collective refuses to play Evolve this year until they are at least paid for last year. It would help, if you want to point the finger, if you had any professionalism, respect or decency of your own.
  7. I promised myself I'd never use this loser board again and frankly I've only read a handful of your loser responses. The friend of mine is a tough chick and she's been through some heavy shit and this was intolerable. If you want to make light of it go for it but you're the one who looks like a massive fucking tool. We wanted to stick around and see KJ Sawka, that's why we came and paid $20 - instead we left about a half hour after we came because as mentioned the venue was over capacity and the capacity that was there was whacked way past their due date. Case in point in front of the venue some serious Om wookie rolled up to us and the first thing he wanted to inform us of was that he'd just done a big line of K and Coke. Way to go Guy! I'm really proud of you, way to put yourself in the Hole then try and crawl out of it! As far as the band well clearly despite the fact that I'm a full time music journalist, I don't drink, I've been writing about improvisational music in Canada since before jambands.ca existed- not to mention I've been a head for longer than almost all this board- clearly some believe I am still not entitled to an opinion. Irrespective of the lame scene we dealt with in terms of predatory K'd out tweakers- not so much offensive as massively annoying (like most of you for instance)- the music was truly derivative. I have never enjoyed Chameleon Project. The drummer is marginally good, the bass players concepts are pretty weak and lacking and the guitarist is a fucking joke. A pedal board and some dude playing guitar. I really really tried to just get into it and enjoy but they had no concept of how to build the tension and release of a Break- which is what Jungle, Breaks and Hip Hop are based on. Instead they meander about touching on a variety of faded styles and pander to their audience who is so touched in the head from the copious quantities of animal tranquilizers that they'd meow at the moon.

  10. Hey this is just a notice. Frankly me (Luke Bowden) and my friend who runs an influential toronto music site www.torontoindie.com went out to see Chameleon Project and couldn't stick around for Sawka who I really wanted to see because way too many guys at that show were staring at her in a sexual, rude and stupid way. Lay off the K, Coke and E you fucking tweaker fucks. I'm an old school junglist and Marcus himself was up in the house that night and frankly I was embarassed for all of you. Tweaker sausage party central. Alot of you were fucked off your fucking asses and not dancing well or at all and just fucking losing it up with the losers big time. If that was a Rave I'd have left that room in a second. We both agreed before we were forced to leave- let's be clear here she pointed out that guys kept staring at her which I didn't notice at first. Then I started to notice, every single gooned fuck was glaring at her and wouldn't stop. I put my arms around her and I'm a big dude and you tweaked fuckers wouldn't lay up. One guy almost ran into a person he was staring away so long. We figured later you were all so sketched out and tweaky that you were just salivating over the fresh meat at your sausage party. In any case it was really not cool and a couple of you are lucky I didn't fucking rock your heads in. Jay Cleary, who is a friend, can keep our $20 cover because I likely owe it to him anyways. On a musical level we both agreed that Chameleon Projects grooves and breaks were derivative and lacklustre and that that band should lay off the chems and the electronics. That's not jungle or drum and bass it's wanky drum and bass grooves, way too much effects on a shit guitar style and basically a really annoying band with little going for it. The fact that the Grateful Dead's legacy is somehow insulted by this group deeply offends me. Remember with electronic effects 'it's the gunner not the gun that takes the shot'. This isn't a rant. We were really pissed and you will read about this in print. We were both sober and both music critics and the music and especially the crowd sucked massive balls.

  15. Buck Bacock, hmmmm, 2 posts. Self promotion? Check. Chipper JayDawg type cheeriness? Check. Lurking around? Check. Hey what's up? So viral marketing is good but not where it crosses over with brusque honesty qua assholish behaviour. Wholesale censorship is reasonable when any single person deems the normative standards of the community breached. Agents of censorship deem their views reasonable when they can conceive of no other option.
