  4. Hi everyone, I hope you're all well! We just finished up production of our debut album - the Blurry Pickers - Songs of the Billyneck Redhills. It's all original material and we had a bunch of wonderful friends share their talents on the CD including my lovely wife Mud, Schwa, Todd Gillies (Fat Cats), Doug Burnside (Diesel Dog), Trish and Mark Schnurr (Moonshiner's Daughter) If you'd like a physical copy you can message me. Previews and downloads of each song are available at - http://cdbaby.com/cd/theblurrypickers Schwa co-wrote the song Jamland. The song Fairlee Well is a tribute to Jerry Garcia and is going to be featured on the Rex Foundations website in a couple of weeks and 1/2 the proceeds from the song will be donated to Rex. Cheers, Blurry
  5. Myspace sucks! Tried listening but it said "an error has occured. please try again" tried again - failed. Vicious cycle of into nothingness......
  6. Yeah, nice photo tribute - though pic 28 and 32 were scary for sure. Just reading a book Mud bought me this morning called "The book of Rock Quotes" and came across this one; "I only write about stuff that's happened to me - stuff I can't get past personally. Luckily, I'm quite self-destructive." - Amy Winehouse

  8. Thanks Esau. Do you know where to find the names of the photographers who took them?
  9. I'm looking to use a picture of Jerry holding a banjo. The trick is I need to know who took the photo so I can get permission to use it and give credit. I found this one; But I don't know who the photographer is.....does anybody know where I can find the name of the person who took that photo? Or does anybody know where to find pictures of Jerry with the proper credits given for the photos? Thanks!
  10. have fun everyone - wish we could be there!
  11. Schwa's too sexy for his birthday! I know who fake Schwa is - unless someone else here has a dog that looks identical to the one sniffing Schwa's blue balls.
  12. Wow! That's awesome - even if it's not Little Richard. I love how he plays some of the notes at the beginning with a closed fist! Thanks Edger!
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY C-TOWNS VAN ZANDT - SEE YA SOON!

  15. Thanks everyone! I'm pretty excited about it. The proposal is going through Jerry Garcia's estate next week - they need to approve the picture of Jerry we're going to use. After that I need to put together the YouTube clip and then we should be ready to roll......
  16. A song I wrote, Fairlee Well, is going to be featured on the Rex Foundation's website as part of Rex's Musical Caravan. The song is a tribute/ode to Jerry and his life in the Grateful Dead, JGB and Old & in the Way/bluegrass (see below for lyrics). Half the proceeds from the song will go to the Rex Foundation. The Rex Foundation is the charity the Grateful Dead started in 1983. The song will also be on the upcoming Blurry Pickers album - due out in mid-July. The song is sung by Todd Gillies (Fat Cats) who is also playing guitar and includes, among others, Dan Walsh (formerly of Fred Eaglesmith & the Flathead Noodlers) on dobro and Ryan Morrison (Diesel Dog) on banjo. We still have a few details to iron out but it's been given the go ahead. I will let you know when it is up and ready. If you're in interested here's a link to a couple of other tunes I wrote for the upcoming album. http://www.myspace.com/567661742 Fairlee Well © (Blair Babcock) (Chorus) Headin’ on down to Mexico Takin’ it through the Ohio The Ohio The Ohio Takin’ a ride on a river float Headed on out from Roanoke From Roanoke On a river float Through the Ohio Down to Mexico Woke to the flood and found you gone Waited for you ‘til the break of dawn They said, “He’s gone†“Yeah, he’s gone†In this brokedown palace we stand alone Your teary-eyed bird has up and flown Has up and flown Oh, please come home Yeah, please come home Love please come home In the midnight we sang our songs In the moonlight we rolled along We rolled along We rolled along Ramble on Rose and Catfish John Can’t find a bird to sing their song To sing their song Since you been gone Since you been gone gone gone Gone, gone (Chorus) Black muddy river run deep and wide Take it on down to the other side The other side The other side Mississippi dew in the morning sun Seems this song has come undone Has come undone Has come undone Seams to this song Have come undone Box of rain to the left of me So I’ll take and sing your melodies Your melodies Your melodies And though your bird has taken flight Once again I’ll bid you goodnight I bid you goodnight I bid you goodnight I bid you goodnight And we bid you goodnight
