    Meatball Recipes?

One trick I've heard is to use several different kinds of meat: equal parts beef, veal, and pork is one combination. Aloha, Brad

  6. Back in April, I went without a reservation (arriving at 5:30pm on a Tuesday) and got a table (for one) no problem. Aloha, Brad
  7. Someone needs to convince AC/DC to cover one of Celine's tunes... Aloha, Brad
  8. Agreed. I am, too, not least of which because his drummer is Vinnie Colaiuta, who's best known for having played with Frank Zappa in the late 1970s. Aloha, Brad

  10. Is there a standing section vs. an outdoor-parking-lot-chair section? Aloha, Brad
  11. I tried Festivale last night, and wasn't really impressed. I like Lug Tread, but Festivale didn't have much going for it beyond being a maltier, dark-coloured beer. Aloha, Brad
  12. I had the pulled pork sandwich from Camp 31 (down near the Bank St. end of Sparks St.) tonight for dinner, and it wasn't impressive. It wasn't bad, but there was nothing distinctive about the taste: it wasn't smoky, wasn't tangy or spicy, wasn't really flavourful at all. Aloha, Brad

    Dieting tips

Except for the zero-calorie drinks. Since Diet Coke (et al) has no calories at all, it has, by definition, no empty calories. Aloha, Brad

When it comes to cooking at home, freezing is also a good option. Things like soup, pasta sauces, chili, burrito mix, etc., freeze really well, and if you freeze them in individual (or dual) servings, you can make a big batch one weekend and enjoy it for quite a while. Aloha, Brad
  21. (I'm assuming you hadn't heard what's below.) They're playing at a festival http://www.grandstage.ca http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/247110 Aloha, Brad
  22. And thus Schwa.'s ulterior motive for dissing Sound Academy so hard is revealed: he wants to dissuade people from going there to reduce the attendance to the point where he can get up close without being crowded and easily get through the bar line-ups. Nicely played. Aloha, Brad
  23. Except that there's nothing else around it, for either pre-show meet-ups or post-show chill-outs. Again, Metropolis in Montreal (or The Opera House in Toronto) is a lot better in this regard. Aloha, Brad
  24. Its location, for one thing, which seemed to have zero public transport access, and no chance of getting a cab afterwards. In front of the board, the sight lines are OK (not stellar, but acceptable), but behind the board, forget it. They had several video screens around the venue for the Ween show, but in a room of that size, I want to be able to see the band, not its image on a screen. As for the sound, for Ween it was OK, at best. If Sound Academy weren't down in the docks, and were located somewhere more accessible (as the Opera House is), I might be tempted, but for me, the "points against" count is higher than the "points for" count for this show. (As well, the Montreal show is a weekend one, and Montreal is closer to Ottawa than Toronto is, both of which make the Montreal show more attractive for me. Your mileage may vary, however.) Aloha, Brad
  25. Would anyone be up for hitting up ribfest for dinner tomorrow night (5pm, maybe) before heading to jazz fest? Aloha, Brad
