  1. too bad its the same night as jimmy buffett, or i would be in for this one!!love levon, and fogerty is a legend himself. sounds like a small venue? i never been there before. hope all that are going, have a great time. already got my jimmy tix, and honestly, there arent too many shows i would skip jimmy to see. a jimmy show to me, is like a dead show full of drunk parents thinking there teenagers. kinda fun to be in the mix, or just sit back and laugh with/at all the funny drunks walking around with coconut bras and cheeseburger hats (oh, and pet parrots too)!! there is a parking lot party comparable to the dead, and one of my highlights is when the go around the parking lot filming all the parrottheads singing "why dont we get drunk and screw" and play it during the so-called intermission, on the giant screens. but nonetheless the show is what i go for, as it is up there with some of the best shows ive ever seen(and ive seen 50+ dead shows and hundred others). i dont drink anymore, but i know if i did, i woulda been a perfect fit for a jimmy show parking lot vendor. there are noooo attitudes and everyone is just there to have as good as a time as possible!! if you go, mingle with people as they are very friendly, and dont be shy to set up a little "camp" in the lot, with barbecues and tiki torches etc. everyone else does.

ooooops sorry. not trying to hijack this thread, just got into a bit of ramblin! i get a little excited once and a while!

  2. 7/5/94. was that the ottawa congress centre. with round tables and waiters/waitresses with bowties on, bringing drinks to your tables. oh yeah, it was air conditioned too. only about a handful of folks there. then off to montreal were there was a few more folks, then off to great woods in mass. were there was about 15,000 folks. that was one of my favorite mini tours! from about 500 people(at least thats what it looked like to me) in ottawa to about 15,000 in great woods, just a few days later. just shows how big they were in canada in '94. good memories. thanks for reminding me of that show. it was so small, that it was almost unreal.

  5. truly touching video!! good for her.

i too had a run-in with a musical legend!! although i never made it on stage, i did have a "moment", when i was at a Guess Who show, about 10 rows from the stage, falling down drunk, and repeatadly told "not to light that in here"(by an off duty cop), Burton Cummongs looked "me" right in the eyes..........and shook his head in disgrace!!!!

how cool is that!!!(needless to say, i was in rehab a year later!! thanks Burton, you made my show!) i still believe he had a part in me cleaning up my act. just think, if burton cummings is looking at me and shaking his head, i must have been in rough shape!! lol. have you ever seen the live video of "these eyes"? i think he also had a little problem with party favours!!

PS. wasnt i on the floor with you for that one Mo? or was i really that messed up? :chug:

  6. my cousins friend who lives in an abandoned missle silo, somewhere in the alaskan tundra, 2 miles below the earths surface, who lives off the "grid" and is a "bit" of a conspiracy nut, is in the process of creating "that" app! and i will be utilizing it soon on my 1994 nokia pay-as-you-go cell phone, which of course relays through my atari straight to my tinfoil helmut(helps stop the voices), where it is decoded and implanted into my brain! i then will know who is tracking me!!! look out CIA, i got you bastages figured out!

  7. no wonder i hate technology!!!!

Since iOS 4 was released, iPhones and 3G iPads have been recording their owner’s movements. At least, that’s what researchers Alasdair Allan and Pete Warden claimed today at the O’Reilly Where 2.0 Conference in Santa Barbara.

It seems that iPhones and iPads record both location and timestamp data in a file named “consolidated.db.†That file is stored both on the iPhone/iPad and on any other device it has been synced with. Further, as the data is stored in an unencrypted and unprotected form it can be read by anybody who has access to the device. To make it even easier to track, the aforementioned researchers have released an app that enables the “consolidated.db†data to be visualized:

How concerned about this should you be? Allan and Pete Warden say:

“Don’t panic. As we discuss in the video, there’s no immediate harm that would seem to come from the availability of this data. Nor is there evidence to suggest this data is leaving your custody. But why this data is stored and how Apple intends to use it — or not — are important questions that need to be explored.â€

There are, however, some obvious privacy concerns as this “feature†will enable anybody – be it a parent, spouse or employer – who can access an iPhone/iPad to establish the movements of the owner of the device.

Apple has yet to respond to the claims.

What do you think about this? Are you concerned that companies are able to record data in this manner without explicit user-consent? Leave a comment and share your thoughts.

[update April 21 3:26 p.m. This story has been sweeping the web since it broke yesterday. The CBC is reporting that Canada's privacy commissioner is "following this with interest", while Michael Geist, a law professor from the University of Ottawa who serves on the privacy commissioner's expert advisory panel, underscores the potential misuse of the data "making itself potentially vulnerable to hackers and to fishing expeditions by law enforcement." - Ed.]

  8. everyone, and i mean everyone, should apply for their card! tell your doc you have arthritis or severe back pain. your doc has to go on what you say! if you say you are in pain, then you are in pain. they must believe your word. tell your doc, you hate perscription drugs, and refuse to use them. whatever it takes. there are forms out there, that release the doc of all liabilities. there is no reason a doctor should refuse you. if he/she does, move on. any doc that thinks MJ is worse than oxy, is not the kind of doc i want anyways! it is our right to self medicate, with whatever works, whether our doc believes its safe or not. remember, we are paying the doc's, and we have the right to switch them at any time. everyone has a disability, whether minor or not, that can be helped with a little THC, CBN or CBD's. apply for your card today, before they make it hard to get one. ive never heard of anyone being refused there card, as long as they have a doc fill out the paperwork. there are many docs out there that will sign this paperwork, but sadly you must hunt to find one. and when you do this, dont fall into the govt suggested usage of 3 grams/day. ask for more. i believe you can get 5 g's/day, after that i think you may have to seek out a specialist to explain why you need more. i met a guy who had something like 135g's/day, becuse he made hemp drinks to kill his pain. he had a growers permit and if you do the math, he was allowed to have over 650 plants growing at once!!!( 5gm's/day=25 plants) i know that is a bit extreme, but you get my drift. EVERYONE can have one of these if they just try. i dont know how easy it is to get a grow permit, but from what i see, it should be just as easy. as far as a criminal record check, i think it only applies if you are a grower for someone else, then you must have a clean record( i think). so what im saying is, "what do you have to lose?" apply and see what happens. just be prepared to wait for about 8-10 mos. renewals are much faster.

ps-i was going to court for a personal grow while i was applying for and recieving my card! actually my charges were dropped after i got my card. i thank my lawyer because i would have never applied for this if my lawyer didnt suggest it.i had to switch my family doctor of 20 years, but he was a pill pushing senior citizen, who thought pot was the devils juice, anyways. i was allways against getting my card, cause i figured "the man" would be watching me all the time! well, its been over 5 years now, and its one of the best things to ever happen to me!! i suggest to anyone who smokes, just apply if you can. what do you have to lose?

i have a spine that is deformed from birth and severe arthritis throughout my back. there are many illnesses you can have that require pain relief, but ive heard back pain is the easiest, cause they cant prove wether you are in severe pain or not. if you say it hurts, it HURTS!!!! that is what a doctor is to believe. if you say i dont want conventional medicine, then they have to suggest something else. remember, ITS YOUR BODY!!!!

  10. what about when a construction worker dies? no procession down university ave? why for cops? i feel bad for his family, but people die on the job everyday!!!! why is this such a big deal? because hes a cop? again im sympathetic to his family, but 4hr tv coverage of a funeral procession? what about the soldiers that die everyday. they have a big service, but not 4 hr tv coverage. this man/woman, died fighting for our country!! this cop just busts people, probably for the most part, for speeding or smoking a "J". i think the person who gave their life for our country should get more recognition, than a police officer. sorry but its just my beliefs.
