    MK?

    this thread sucks.
  3. 3 of us put in for all three nights of Atlantic City. All 3 were shut out. 1 did get two for Utica as a consolation though.
  4. Esteemed London Free Press colleague Randy Richmond is looking to write an article on grow-ops and is quite interested in looking at it from the side of the proprietor...a note from Randy: if anyone wants their voice heard or their story told, email randy.richmond@sunmedia.ca
  5. Looking forward to Friday night's show in London. I talked to Bryan Webb on the phone yesterday for a bit. The conversation didn't get very far before his cell died...turned what I got into a podcast: check it out here not much of interest unless you're from London.

  7. maybe someone will find it interesting that we had 2694 unique views of that stream. take from that what you will as newspapers transition to modernity. imagine if tv stations could actually count their viewers.
  8. some of you may remember lfpress.com's rooftop Beatles show tribute and the disaster of a live stream we tried to pull off...we've had a few chances to redeem our streaming ability and right now we are trying it again...this one is much less technically demanding. Beatles-mad London is marking the 40th anniversary of John and Yoko's bed-in...a couple folks are currently bedding-in and we dropped a Mac Book at the end of their bed. fun fun fun. check it out: bed-in live stream
  9. perhaps this was mentioned on here already...I listened to it last night and think it's pretty boring. download the Victor Disc
  10. I don't think you need to open quicktime on your computer to watch the file...just trust that it's the same as the original file and send it on to your doctor if its small enough to email. or burn it onto a disc and mail it to him.
  11. try using mpeg streamclip and converting whatever file type you're trying to send to a quicktime .mov file. how big is the file? do you have ftp access?

I thought Kid Rock was great! he's become quite the american entertainer...about halfway through his medley I said that I would love to see him live. Radiohead thumped some serious ass too.
  13. actually, after the ibook succumbed to suckness, I rushed down to the coffee shop below and grabbed a PC from someone there. the cable from the camera had a firewire output and the newish PC didn't have an input for it. my boss from work had to rush down the Mac Book Pro from his office - with minutes to spare...quite a rush as we were on schedule for the figurative minute.
  14. thanks AlphaNerd...I just threw together a video for our website with good audio...I'm mixing up aspect ratios but I think it came out real good:
  15. ugh - what a logistical nightmare. I got down there at 10:30 and my ibook crapped out...I had a MBP brought down and got the stream working about one minute before they started. I missed the soundcheck and totally fucked up the sound on the feed. sorry to those who had to listen to that shit feed. I had a good mix out of the soundboard and tried to balance it with the camera mic...turns out my issues were with ustream and the volume output there...the VU meters in the software were barely blipping so I maxed it...all the feedback I was getting to my bberry through the show was massively negative on the sound. the soundman and I were working our asses of to redeem it but I didn't think of the volume output on ustream until the last song. if the ibook didn't suck shit, I would have had it tweaked perfectly for the show...I recorded it and it sounds awesome. that stream was a disaster in my books. however, on a positive note, we conceived and pulled off a massive idea and about two thousand people showed up on a Friday afternoon. thanks for the feedback all...we'll get 'em next time.
