  4. indeed. i'd stay in detroit too. call ahead to the renaissance centre... i used to get rooms there on the 70th floor for about $90 - which we'd split 4 ways. or, $40 for the holiday inn sounds even better. my 'favourite' detroit experience was going for all-night breakfast about 4am, to a restaurant with armed security. automatic weapons and bullet-proof vests!
  5. I used to listen to Richie Hawtin (plastikman), and recall reading that Nitzer Ebb was one of his influences, so I checked them out... strange influence for a bleepy, bloopy techno producer!

  9. ride the incline rail! i don't recall much of Pittsburgh other than i was pleasntly surprised at how nice it is. other steel towns i know of don't even compare

  13. I'll be there on my bike! Here's a list of highlite projects, put together by a friend of a friend. Velvet's request in another post led me to copy and paste it here: ZONE A Beautiful Light at City Hall Four huge alphanumeric lights - each the size of a truck - will be suspended between the 2 towers of City Hall. The displays will run automated code sequences and feature live performances and audience interaction throughout the night. http://www.scotiabanknuitblanche.ca/cityhall.shtml Space Becomes The Instrument at Massey Hall Gordon Monahan is stringing the interior of the hall with 30-metre long piano wires that will be "played" by dancers. Throughout the night there will also be speaker swinging performances linked to the 8-speaker surround sound. The public will get tp stand on the stage and watch the show happening in the house. http://www.scotiabanknuitblanche.ca/exhibition.aspx?zone=A&rowID=7 Battle Royal at The Bay & Dundas Coach Terminal Shaun El Conquistador Leonardo (artist and trained fighter) along with 19 of Canada’s elite pro-wrestlers will fight blindfolded until only one man is left standing. This takes place inside a 17’ steel cage inside the bus station. Before the match begins, the public can sign a waiver to enter the cage blindfolded to experience the fighters environment. Two midway rides will be set up on Bay Street - a literal metaphor for the roller coaster market. MOCCA merges contemporary art and hockey.   15. I always thought people "walking and texting" were just configuring their forcefields. My "favourite" is seeing people using GPS navigation on the QEW, on their daily commute. Don't they remember yesterday?
