meggo, i've used hotwire. not in montreal, but with good results (in austin and buffalo). rather than quote a price they give you a few price-points to choose from.

and yes it does really suck for shows there. when i first decided to go to a show there everyone was like "it sucks there" but i thought "well i'll decide for myself anyhow" and yes, it sucked.
ditto! ...and i kept an open mind!!

you could definitely plug computer speakers into the receiver' date=' provided you have the right cable... L and R rca outputs on the back.[/quote']
How would I use that to plug in computer speakers, which typically have the single 1/8" jack as output?
Thanks.
Indeed! Thanks Kev.

i can't speak about the vortex box.
i have a squeezebox duet though, and love it. you could definitely plug computer speakers into the receiver, provided you have the right cable... L and R rca outputs on the back. a cheap amp (used) and some decent speakers would be better tho.
my biggest complaint of the squeezebox is the lack of functionality on the remote. it's very basic and only has a few commands. i wish i could manipulate the playlist more once i have songs added. also, wireless is a temperamental technology... so its nice to have a backup (cd player/turntable).

hot docs was ok... the wilco film is good, but the crowd was very quiet and still. a half and half mix of wilco fans and documentary types.
thanks for the link!

yep. just lawns and lawn chairs... they implemented a new rule last year: no lawn chairs on the "floor" area - the paved dance floor in front of the stage. yay!
i typically park at the Tops market, buy a king can, and drink it during the 10-minute walk in. you can park at the conservation area for $10, but there is often a lineup getting out.

the only way this could suck would be at Casino Rama! sounds like a fun show.
