Aggressive Bear Put-Down Monday, September 20th, 2010 pm 1:35:49 PM A stubborn bear had to be put-down after charging a man in Balmertown. OPP say the incident happened last Saturday. Police say the man was in the business section of town when he was charged at by the bruin. The man was not injured. The bear then fled to the backyard of a Fourth Street home. OPP tried to scare the bear away but it failed to move. Police were forced to shoot the bruin as a last resort.

There are empirically bad shows (i.e. Coventry). There are empirically good shows. Most shows are somewhere in the middle and they are deemed bad or good based on taste, opinion, feeling, preference, drugs taken, friends you were with at the time etc etc etc. I choose not to debate the minutiae of these shows that hover in the neverland between perfect and ear-bleedingly-horrid. Do I enjoy listening to it? Fuck yeah. Did I have a good time? YEAH! Were there really bad notes & messed up lyrics & self-indulgent noodling? Yeah? Oops!! Next song please! Basically, I'm just happy to be in a position to go and enjoy the whole experience. Suck the juice, baby! That's just me. That being said, I fully respect the right and, more importantly, the unmitigated passion & unworldly knowledge, of the folks who DO choose to debate, discuss & dissect every morsel of music that Phish masticates and spits out at the world - it's impressive, to say the least. And as long as they keep playing, I'll keep going. Rock on, people!

Wow... New Boss at Lakehead University The new boss has arrived in Thunder Bay. Brian Stevenson is beginning his job as the new President of Lakehead University. Stevenson says 1 of his 5 major goals is to improve connections between LU and the community. He adds another goal is to promote the campus in Orillia. Another item on the agenda is deciding whether to bring wireless internet to the institution. Stevenson says he will be looking for community input on that issue.

We ended up not moving (yet) so I'm actually going to try to move the fridge and attempt to eradicate the molasses-slick, using each & every solution offered herein, if necessary. The re-read of this thread was highly amusing. I'm still awaiting my "Booche's Magic Urine" sampler in the mail...

During the seventh-inning stretch, band member Mickey Hart led a Guinness World Records ensemble of more than 7,000 playing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on kazoos. NBA Hall of Famer and longtime Deadhead Bill Walton delivered a speech during a pregame ceremony at home plate. Jerry's daughter Annabelle threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Later, they all joined in on the kazoos. The tribute benefited the nonprofit Rex Foundation, which promotes the arts and environmental causes. Walton, a Deadhead since he heard the band playing on a local radio station in San Diego when he was 15, has been to, by his count, more than 750 shows. "Not enough," he said.
