  1. I actually clicked it within the minute it went down... was on it... clicked away, went back... and it was gone. oh well.
  2. I gave up actually. Packed up the computer and plan on taking it back. And yeah, cat guy.
  3. First off... please no "just get a mac" comments. I know. Trying out a new computer for live music use... I normally run NI Kontakt live... and at home I use that along with Cubase 5.1 and a bunch of random VST synths. Kontakt is really the only cpu hog out of all of them... So. Upgrading to windows 7 64-bit from my old 32-bit Dell XP has been a nightmare. Most of my Kontakt samples are UNUSABLE... completely overloading my cpu. My Cubase files play like my cat is dancing on a turntable. I'm hoping someone might have some insight in windows 7 DAW use.
  4. coming up quick... we've been doing lots of jamming and are all pretty excited to play some music with this line up!
  5. I just picked up a Blues Jr for my clavinet... absolutely loving it!!
  6. Started a new band... Gavin, Jer and I are calling ourselves JAILMATE. You can catch us every Tuesday in February as part of Peter Elkas Tuesdays at The Dakota Tavern in TO. http://www.facebook.com/events/335878366435917/ Like us on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jailmate/167381070031878
  7. Sounded great on Letterman... was my first time hearing that outfit. I kinda thought Brad Barr was looking like RJ Mitte from Breaking Bad too.
  8. figured someone might be able to help... thanks!
  9. That's awesome. I wanna know who the band is! They've got some pretty cool details down... their look, all the gear... the fender rhodes piano bass and vox continental! Anyone who who they are? Here's a shot from the Doors' 1967 Ed Sullivan performance. Spot on!
  10. We're in town playing a few shows at This Ain't Hollywood this week... a full set on the 9th and a small set with Joel Plaskett on the 10th. The 10th is sold out, but the 9th should be a great night! Both shows are part of the Light Of Day Foundation fundraisers, and are I believe somewhat Springsteen themed. The evenings are hosted by Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy from The Sopranos) and feature a ton of great music and musicians... http://www.lightofday.org/calendar-of-events.php http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=102947216485245 We're on around 10:30 both nights....
  11. If you haven't checked it out yet, Rich's new record sounds fuckin sweet. Got the vinyl at the show, and I'm reallly digging it so far.
  12. C'mon guys... no Steven Adler either... he was the energy of Appetite!!
  13. I think I might be around for this.... been too long since I've seen you guys.
  14. I'm a terrible judge of crowd numbers... maybe a little over 100 for Rich. Probably about 400 for Chris the night before.
  15. I saw both shows... Chris and Rich. Pretty interesting to see both brothers doing their own thing, and be able to pick out where the different influences in the Crowes came from. Chris's set in Buffalo was pretty killer... all amazing players, and having Adam MacDougall on keys was amazing. You can't argue with a Clavinet. Mellower guitar tones than the Crowes... the guitarist was very obviously a Garcia fan. To hear Chris sing with awesome backups was great too.... One thing I missed was Chris' stage energy... he had a guitar strapped on the whole night and kinda had that nervous guitar player vibe as opposed to his normal schtick. They got pretty jammy, but seldom 'rocked'. Rich's set at the Elmo was also killer. Great, great guitar sound... crunchy, loud and very rich. As well, great band. Joe Magistro killed it on the kit... Rich's singing was surprisingly good too! Like Chris, he played some Crowes repertoire... I dug that he reworked Home For Me into the rocker it was, as well as Oh Sweet Nothin. It was definitely a rock n roll show. Keyboardist didn't really sell it for me though... something about that Nord tone - but to be fair, he did say his Leslie had just crapped out on him the day before. Overall... Chris has the better singing, keyboards and venue (the town ballroom is my absolute fav).... Rich had better guitar sound, guitar playing and drumming. Very glad I was able to see both shows.
  16. I still feel like I'm banned at the Only from getting kicked out for smoking hash there 12 years ago....
