Featuring excerpts from the Emmy Award-Winning Television Classic Jerry Granelli Trio: Jerry Granelli – drums Simon Fisk - bass Chris Gestrin - piano His tunes have been a part of Christmas tradition for North American families for the past 45 years, close as an old friend, comfortable as an old blanket. As one third of the legendary San Francisco-based Vince Guaraldi Trio, Jerry Granelli recorded what is arguably the greatest Christmas album of all time in 1965 – the soundtrack to the animated classic A Charlie Brown Christmas. Today Granelli is the only remaining member of the famed trio and this Christmas season he’s on the road to share the story of the band that recorded the famous soundtrack. Part oral history, part concert and part screening, join us for a unique opportunity to revisit Charles Schultz’s Christmas Classic with live musical accompaniment by the Jerry Granelli Trio. This performance promises to be an unforgettable experience for Peanuts and jazz music aficionados alike. Granelli and his band will be joined on stage with a local choir, the Cross Town Youth Chorus. web site: http://ottawajazzfestival.com/artists/charlie-brown-christmas/
