Broadway $5.00 Kaejema are: Kit Soden - guitar Tim Townsend - guitar Jason Taylor - bass Pat Haavisto - drums Kaejema is a four-piece band that play a wide variety of styles within their compositions and songs, best summed up in one word as FUNKDUBJAZZ. With Pat Haavisto (drums – formerly of The Harvesters) and Jason Taylor (bass – formerly of Smokin Frogs), their rhythm section is a dynamic, solid backbone of energetic beats and grooves. Tim Townsend and Kit Soden, on melodic and rhythmic guitars respectively, bring an irrepressible jazzyfunk feel and harmonic texture to the music with their blending of rhythmic counter positions and ambient, descriptive melodies. Vocal harmonies arise at different parts in their music to highlight the instrumentally driven grooves. These rhythmic layers propel Kaejema through many musical soundscapes, stimulating the minds, and bodies, of those listening and dancing. http://www.kaejema.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KYNKAYD FRIDAY MARCH 14TH THE GREEN ROOM 695 CAMBIE @ GEORGIA $7.00 Kynkayd are: Kent Wallace - Trumpet Gareth Seys - Trombone Richard Daubin - Guitar Adrian Lock - Keys Shanto Bhattacharya - Bass Gregor Phillips - Drums Kynkayd is in the business to move. By morphing and blending syncopated rhythms, four part harmonies, cunning melodies, and lyrics, Slammin Jack create a unique and dynamic sound. They take their audience on a musical journey through peaks, valleys, and hazy ambient pockets. From funk, progressive rock, disco, bluegrass, jazz, jungle, or just crazy psychedelic jams, Slammin Jack intend to keep it as real as it gets, while maintaining a standard of weirdness and ever evolving progress. http://www.slamminjack.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KUSH Sunday March 23rd The Fairview Pub 898 W. Broadway $5.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GORILLA ROCK Friday March 28th the Green Room 695 cambie $7.00 Gorilla Rock are: G - Regulator Scrubby Wallace Poison Joe performing on... drum kit, electric bass, electric guitar, computer synths, JUNO, wurlitzer, numerous assorted percussion, abstract objects, and voice manipulation. What started as a friendly jam between friends quickly progressed into one of the heaviest experimental groove bands on the underground scene. Rarely surfacing, Gorilla Rock has created an entirely new approach to improvised music. They combine unrivaled dynamics with following leads, ducking in & out of infectious grooves, presenting their music to the people without pretense ot pre-design. The fundamental essence of GR is the de-evolution of man & music. It is a transgression into a more primal mind state, where music is free from the burden of traditon, and where definitions are instantly created, then destroyed, within each improvisation. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KAEJEMA Sunday March 30th The Fairview Pub 898 W.
