Brels
Thanks for the link!! Only one listen and it is great.....nice intro by Page....'switch' about half way through song where it really picks up....great jam at the end... It appears, thankfully, they have resisted the urge to go 'orchestral', a la Metallica or GnR (November Rain - ouch) - haha.

scottieking
First part: PAGE!!!!Oh I miss ye.. Second Part: Standard. Probably will grow on me Third Part: Wow! I love the "Tomorrow Never Knows" drum beat lift from Fishman to start this, however the end is a bit sloppy. Does this sound like a rushjob to anyone else? Still looking forward to see this one play out live!
PhishyK
hmm.. I'm not really that impressed. The first thought that went thru my mind was "so THIS is what Phish sounds like without effects and loops and wacky synthesizers" Sounds pretty loose to me. Why is this available... is it right off their upcoming album?
dancingbear
thanks for the link. well i really liked it! I mean it definitely is not as produced as some other albums, which i feel brings in some good energy. I feel a lot of the transitions sound like phish's earlier stuff.ala 80's.... there is a weak little bit in there by fishman but hey...there's no doubt this is going to expand some minds once heard live..... dancinbgear
Guest
Kinda weird eh? First half -- oddly reminds me of Meatloaf. Second half -- At first reminds me of "American Dream" by Neil Young.. Comes into its own though after a few minutes. I like how the second half of this tune develops.
NewRider
I wasn't that into the first 5 minutes but the other 5 minutes were pretty good. Ha ha ha Meatloaf!!!
weezy
lame. In the words of Frank Zappa, "shut up and play yer guitar" Trey's lyrical arrangements always make me cringe - this one was no exception. boo-urns!
AD
not a big fan of the song, but did anybody check out the page that was hosting the song? kinda wierd how Phish and this guy mix. I can't find the common ground... Click Here wierd ad
Woolner
I like the Page intro, nice changes indeed. The middle part was fairly uninteresting, but around 5 or 6 minute mark when fishman picks up the beat I love it. absolutely love it. It really makes me wonder what the rest of the album is gonna sound like ??
Booche
The end sounds like it has the potential to open up, and thats all I care about........ I am going to try and reserve judgement until I hear it a few more times, and possibly a few live versions. I do know that I wasnt floored on the first listen. Groove Fetish
the link seems dead now. poo!
Schwa.
Nothing about that song grabbed me. But i hold the same opinion as Booche. I never liked SOAM for the longest time but it later became one of my favourites, so we'll see.....
secondtube
Made it to 4:40 left to play in the song, just after the switch. Putting on 97-12-07, hoping to forget the last 6 minutes of the day.
Guest Low Roller
On first listen I really wasn't all that impressed. But songs have been known to grow on me (literally).
canadianphan
The link above is dead. You can listen to a real player version here: Walls of the Cave BTW, there is a second track in this file, I think it's called 46 days. The lyric is "Listen to the Silent Trees". It's got a bit of a WSP feel to it.
Groove Fetish
thanks Canadianphan - we actualy found it on AOL...I must admit new or whatever- we nee d to let them get into the live groove and then comment on what evolves as this song. I mezan even with studio releases is there really static version of a Phish tune? Isn't that part of teh beauty of the band? I'm excited ethier way to see whats ahead for this band.
