Recently Seen in XPress

I don't know if anybody else saw it, but in last week's Ottawa XPress, there were ads on the page where clubs have their ads from both Cafe Dekcuf and Mavericks. I find this significant, as neither bar (esp. Dekcuf) has advertised much in XPress.

Also, in the Mavericks ads, there were notices I found interesting: first, Threat From Outer Space is playing tonight (Monday, April 12). I remember seeing them at the Bayou in 2002 (IIRC), and it was a lot of fun. I'm not sure I'll make it out, due to tiredness and a need to rest up for next weekend , but this could be a fun night.

Lastly, the Mavericks ad also had a "coming soon"? Who's coming soon? JSB! The Mavericks web page lists the show at Wednesday, May 19. After the craziness that was the Dekcuf show, let's hope this is similarly in funness. I remember thinking that the Feb. show would have been a lot better if there had been more room, and I think Mavericks might do nicely.
