Esau Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 wow, with all the Sam Bush talk early this summer I thought more folks would be interested in this... I grabbed it and its stellar, quality is A+ (usually is from COTA though). One more bump for Sam...
Guest Low Roller Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Is that the same guy who was with Bela Fleck in the Bluegrass Sessions?
bradm Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Is that the same guy who was with Bela Fleck in the Bluegrass Sessions? I think so. There was even one edition of the Flecktones with Bush (after Howard Levy left, before Jeff Coffin joined; they played Barrymore's some years ago). Aloha, Brad
Esau Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 Yep,same guy. Also has an awesome disc with Grisman.
Esau Posted August 5, 2004 Author Report Posted August 5, 2004 so how is this show? As mentioned my friend,I downloaded it myself yesterday, took about 1 1/2 hours and its awesome, A+ quality, equal to a SBD,crisp and clear with no noise. I bumped the thread today in case anyone else wanted to download it since I had read alot of Sam talk earlier this summer.
purple foot Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 sweet. i'm working on this one in the cue. esau if your interested let me know. The Acoustic Allstars Tony Rice, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Bela Fleck, Stuart Duncan, Mark Schatz 1/23/88 The Birchmere, Alexandria Virginia 3 discs Source: SBD->cassette sound board master>cassette copy metal tape> Sony SBM A\D converter>ZA2 card>CD-R (sounds surprisingly good for an analog gen) This show is absolutely smoking! The guys had been together for a good part of the previous month working on Bela's Drive album and had just finished up the last few tracks at Bias Studio in Springfield. Unlike some allstar efforts, this band was tight and Tony's voice was still in fine form. The guys were loose and there were quite a bit of jokes flying around... Disc 1: Set I: 1. Nine Pound Hammer 2. Slipstream 3. Ginseng Sullivan 4. Wayfaring Stranger 5. Cincinnati Rag 6. Home From the Forest 7. Poor Richard's Blues 8. Molly and Tenbrooks 9. Banjo/Fiddle Medley 10. You Don't Know My Mind 11. Lawnmower (Whitewater) Disc 2: Set II part 1: 1. Old Train 2. Emphysema Two Step 3. Fare Thee Well 4. Natchez Trace Blue Railroad Train 5. Sunny Side of the Mountain 6. Bela solo 7. A New Day Medley (Flux solo) 8. Cold on the Shoulder 9. Daybreak in Dixie 10. Little Sadie 11. Big Mon 12. The Lights of Home Disc 3: Set II cont.: 1. <chatter> 2. Me and My guitar Encore: 3. John Hardy Filler: Allstar Jam - Graves Mt. BGF 5/31/97 Source: AUD DAT master - AT822 4. Sitting on Top of the World 5. Montoezine 6. Bluegrass Breakdown 7. Sugar Coated Love 8. Man of Constant Sorrow 9. Bringing Mary Home 10. Small Exception of Me 11. I Know You Rider Blems - Three or four bursts of static here and there when Flux is playing (PA problem?, present on master) and the Me and My Guitar cuts on the master tape literally 3 seconds before end of tune. I pasted on the ending from my audience tape.
Esau Posted August 5, 2004 Author Report Posted August 5, 2004 For those wondering of the quality,I converted a song to mp3 for your listening pleasure... Girl from the north country
