MoMack Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Hey folks. I got my ride! I need some advice though... Anyone know what traffic is like on the Gardiner -> QEW -> border on a friday at 4pm? I know its bad, but how bad? It must be worse going north no? And how about Buffalo traffic? ie. which border crossing would be quickest. I want to say Lewiston just for the actual border part, but what about getting to the I-90 from there? Thanks for the help...
FairySari Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 I don't know what the the traffic would be like to get to the border (although at that time I'd expect it to be busy), but almost every night for the past week or so, I've seen a story on the news about how border wait times are becoming longer due to heightened "homeland security." Here are estimated wait times.
MoMack Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 You know what. I thought that would be the case last weekend. Took us 10 minutes. On the way home on Monday we drove right up to the window... so I"m going to hope there's a horseshoe up my ass on that one. Thanks for the tip though.
ggrtrhhrtgg Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 traffic could be horrid... leave as early as you humanly possibly can... two tips for you....one, don't take the Rainbow bridge under any circumstances. either Lewiston, or the Peace bridge... if the roads are bad when you hit Hamilton onward, use the service roads... they work...and don't tell them at the border you are going to see the Dead, just camping at Darien Lake or something like that.., the traffic is the states should be fine... good luck!!! and maybe I will run into you there.... ::
ollie Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 What's wrong with the Rainbow bridge? We're probably gonna stay in Niagara Falls and I think that's the closest bridge from there.
