Guest Low Roller Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 ...No, not Jeff Beck, but Beck Hansen, simply known as Beck. Anyone care about him?I remember being scared by Mellow Gold, amused by Odelay!, and I'm still warming up to Sea Changes. Anyhow, the reason I bring this up is because I read a tasty little rumour over on Pitchfork that Beck is currently working on his next album with producer extraordinaire Nigel Godrich (Radiohead's producer), and there's going to be a track with guest vocalist Jack "I'll bitchslap ya if you cross me" White of The White Stripes fame. Beck's insanity, with Jack White's intensity, and Nigel Godrich's impeccability will make for one SICK track. Also, here's a little fun trivia fact. Apparently Beck appeared in the White Stripes video for Hardest Button to Button. I had no idea, did you?[Edit: Black & White... see below for explanation.]
gentlemonkey Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 probably my favorite artist of the 90s.. i love all the albums. gotta see that show. Wish i'd caught that tour where the Flaming Lips were his backing band.. lordie.
c-towns Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Midnight Vultures is one of the greatest albums this decade, and he wrote a song about my mom.

Guest Low Roller Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 How the fu©k did I get THAT wrong??? I, of course, meant Jack White. Jaimoe will never let me live this down.
MarcO Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 I must be the only person in the Western world around the age of 30 who isn't so keen on Beck.
\/\/illy Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 I like a lot of Beck's work and I have a tremendous amount of respect for his artistic creativity. I'm really looking forward to the next album.
The_eKuhnunist Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Mutations is one of the nicest albums I've ever heard. Midnite Vultures, Mellow and all those other albums are great too. I especially enjoy his little interludes in Stereopathetic Soul Manure. The only album I haven't really listened to is Sea Changes, don't know why.
