zero Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Hadn't mentioned yet how good these guys were batting clean up at Hillside. I hadn't realized either that they were a local band too. They played before Bedouin Soundclash and then afterwards as part of a collaboration with them. A ton of covers in the combined set including 2 or 3 Police tunes, 2 or 3 Bob Marley tunes, Psycho Killer!, a Papa Was A Rolling Stone and a killer Pressure Drop closer. Sometimes those collaborations to end the weekend can kind of fizzle but this was not the case. In their own set the Remnants played a spot on Ohio and the Pixies Where Is My Mind (which blew my mind and was just so fu©king classy). The lead singer actually looks and acts a lot like Frank Black oddly enough. Anyways they just are that good and play a really fun mix of originals and covers. Highly recommended.
