Freeker Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 A Message from Galactic After almost 10 years of recording and touring the world together, we are announcing that Theryl "The Houseman" DeClouet will no longer be a permanent member of Galactic. We have made this decision together. We all view this change as a great opportunity to further Galactic's evolution as a band, while we all continue to grow individually. We look forward to the times when we will collaborate in the future. We all view our years of collaboration as a magical experience. From the beginning, Theryl has been a musical inspiration, mentor, partner and most importantly a friend. Although Theryl will not be continuing with us he will always remain a huge part of the Galactic family. We all want to thank you, our fans, for your continued support in this time of transition. In celebration of our years together, Theryl will join us for the rest of the summer tour starting on August 12 in Steamboat, Colorado and ending with a very special two night stand at The Fillmore in San Francisco on September 10 and 11. We are all extremely excited for this tour, and we hope you will join us. Sincerely, Robert, Jeff, Stanton, Rich, Ben, and Theryl
CyberHippie Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 I've only seen Galactic once with Houseman, and based on that experience I could do without him in the band.
NewRider Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 the new female vocalist is pretty good, when I talked to the band in June they said Theryl is very sick.
fluffhead77 Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Galactic sounds muuuuuch better without him...and the new girl is great...
Jaimoe Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Too little too late. Perfectly put. I've seen shows were Houseman actually picks the energy of the crowd up, which isn't a ringing endorsement for Galactic.
