rabidmonkey
"You can't wall this off saying, 'We're only talking about a little cannabis.' Our experience is they come together like the Four Horsemen," says David Murray, right-hand man to U.S. "drug czar" John Walters This guy is a looney. And then I can't believe he goes on telling Canada to worry about it's reputation. This coming from the USA. It's a joke, right?

arcane
Uhhh, did I miss the US blockade of The Netherlands? I don't follow the news much. Elvis is dead? Why wasn't I sent a memo? We have a beer fridge at work. Don't tell Dubya.
Jaimoe
This new proposed law if passed, will have an effect on touring musicians and their constant border problems/conflicts. Sure American pro-pot bands will have an easier time getting across the border, but will these same bands want to risk getting interred and prosecuted by American authorities when they try returning to their homeland? I don' think so.
arcane
Dear Dubya: I understand that you're concerned about recent statements made by our Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien. Rest assured that we have taken steps to address your concerns immediately. As always, the Federal Government of Canada decided to send up a test balloon to gauge the repercussions of any change in policy. This time, Jean drew the short straw and was tasked with making the obligatory public statement. We were going to give the job to John Manley, but this time we let Jean set the rules. We do have one concern of our own, however. We understand that in your American culture, you partake of a known hallucinogen during the religious period known as "Christmas". This hallucinogen, known to us as "nutmeg," is mixed liberally in a ceremonial drink known as "eggnog". This "eggnog" has been reputed to contain potentially dangerous levels of the substances "cholesterol" and "saturated fat". Our sources inform us that during the height of your religious ecstasy, this drink is given to all and sundry, including underage children (although the variant presented to them supposedly does not contain the known depressant "alcohol"). Mr Bush, we can appreciate your concerns about the statements made by M Chrétien, but thus far, these are nothing more than words. Surely you realize that the probability of the words of a prominent political figure becoming truth are remote. However, this generally accepted ritual of imbibing a known hallucinogen—often combined with a powerful depressant—has us, quite frankly, alarmed. We would greatly appreciate it if you could look into this matter. In the meantime, rest assured that M Chrétien is in the capable hands of one of our top U.S. specialists, a Mr Mike Weir. We understand that Mr Weir has taken M Chrétien out to a private club for a nice long walk with a couple of friends. Best regards, R. \/\/illy
Harry J. Anslinger, testimony to Congress, 1937 "There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Pilipinos and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz and swing, result from marijuana usage. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others." Is everybody clear? The minorities and entertainers smoke pot and when white women do it they want to sleep with black men. That seems straight forward right?
\/\/illy
The most frightening thing is that their actions indicate that they have not really strayed from this viewpoint in 65 years. Wait a second, they call themselves a progressive nation right? LMAO!!! Message from me to the USA: You are a joke. The whole world is laughing at you. You can bomb us and impose your impossibly outdated ideals on us and steal our water and tax our exports but in the end don't mistake it: We will all be laughing and pointing at you. Out loud. For history to record and all the future to hear.
