Velvet
Hey all, I've lived in Ottawa for almost 16 years and have never had a family doctor here. I always went to Carleton's health clinic, but now that I'm not staff or student, they won't cure my ails.Anybody know of a good doctor in town? The4 phone book lists gajillions. AD
Todd, Wierd timing.. I thought the same thing to myself this morning and did the whole search for a doctor thing for a while too. What you need to do is go here and do a search. Make sure you select the 'Accepting New Patients' box, and then all the doctors around will be displayed. I guess then the next step is calling them. Good luck AD

Ms.Huxtable
Mike and I just got a new family doctor about a year and a half ago. We really like him and he's accepting new patients. He diagnosed an ailment that had caused Mike pain for years. Because of him, Mike's now pain-free. AD
Don't know about dentists, I'm calling that Patrick Blake guy tonight so I will post what he says, and if he's actually accepting new patients. Try searching for an Ontario Dental Surgeons Association webiste or something like that. (I just made up that name but I'm guessing it'll be something similar). Ms.Huxtable
I have THE BEST Dentist. His staff are so nice, he always has the latest in equipment, the cleanings are comfortable, plus he asks what kind of music I want to hear. I always pick Miles Davis which he says is his favorite. He's a photographer as well and his office is a gallery for his photos. Dr. Alan Nodelman Minto Place 233-4885

Freeker
Thanks again AD, looking forward to hearing about Blake. I thik I'll call he Halliday guy tomorrow. Sharon your dentist sounds great, think I'll give him a call as well. What kind of initial costs are there for setting up with a new dentist? Ms.Huxtable
Minto Place is at Lyon and Laurier. I feel bad for never looking at the fees associated with my dental service. I feel like a spoiled brat with my benefits plan. Sorry Freeker.
h
what was paining mike? did he have a nail up his nose?
bouche
It wasn't a nail lodged up there! I go to Noodleman since I work in the building. They are really fantastic in that office. As far as Duong goes, he referred me to the proper specialists after figuring out what was wrong with me. Other people that we know didn't get the same treatment from him though. Consistency is never guaranteed. Before I went to Duong, I was going to the Appletree walkin for anything I need a GP for. Every single time, it was a horrendous experience. I think I actually came out sicker.
Del
Agreed bouche, Appletree fu©king sucks! I really only go there to get prescription refills, and it always is a tedious experience. But since I don't really go to see a doctor for anything else I guess it'll have to do...
