Jay Funk Dawg
definitely come by early to hear these guys!! The Little Pilgrims are a group of seven friends with the common goal of producing unique, refreshing music that is rich in character and substance. The majority of the music is rooted in traditional country/folk, but as you will soon hear, includes all sorts of colourings resulting in a truly original sound. All members began playing music in Prince Edward Island in such luminary groups as Adam's Eve, Stonefly, The Rude Mechanicals and the fullas to name a few. Having since relocated to Toronto between 1998 & 2001, The Little Pilgrims officially formed in July of 2003 with aims of contributing to both the Canadian and international music scenes. With many years of playing experience, The Little Pilgrims are able to maintain a complimentary balance of both professionalism and genuine enthusiasm for their honest, human brand of music. The Little Pilgrims have played various shows and venues recently, highlighted by a performance at the North by Northeast Music Festival in Toronto which received much acclaim from the capacity crowd. Currently The Little Pilgrims are recording songs for an upcoming album as well as fine tuning their live set for what looks to be a very promising future. In early 2005 an album of original material will be surfacing as The Little Pilgrims attempt to make the world a better place. The group began from various formations of the members getting together enjoying refreshments and writing songs. Initially the band formed as a five-piece, but secured the services of an additional two members and settled on the following line up; Dennis Ellsworth - lead vocals, guitar Michael Daley - vocals, guitar, pedal steel James Hicken - guitar Sheldon Kelly - vocals, bass Mike Mella - vocals, drums Todd MacLean - sax, keys Matthew McQuaid - mandolin
