colinw
A dixie Chicks song at #22 in the all time best country songs? I think not. There are tons of better songs out there. I agree with the majority of the picks - some great tunes there - but some of the picks are of newer artists whoese songs simly are not as good as some of the classic real country songs listed. When people vote for stuff like this they usually let the older forgotten classics go by the wayside. That being said, there are some excellent picks up there - Cash, Jennings, Twitty, Nelson, Wynette, etc. Colin
CatPhish
I'm surprized that CMT came up with a list that good. There certainly are a lot of Greats(Hank Merle,Tammy, Loreta, Willie, Waylon) in there...but I agree there could be many many more. Funny that they list Man of Constant Sorrow by the "Foggy Bottom Boys".
Jaimoe
It's more of a television video list. Most country acts have film footage that's been made into individual song-videos. If Grand Old Oprey didn't film those classic performers, the above list would be vastly different, and a lot more modern.
