bouche Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Jambase Rhapsody is free for the week again! This service is incredible. I wish I noticed earlier, but it's only going to be free until June 22. http://www.jambase.com/features/rhapsody/index.html
Ms.Huxtable Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Oh yeah Baby! I wish Canadians could subscribe to this service. I was never as happy as I was when we had it for free. So much music, so easily accessable. *sigh*
bouche Posted June 18, 2003 Author Report Posted June 18, 2003 There "subscribe" page is very ambiguious. The state field is labelled as state/province, and the zipcode field is labelled as Postal Code even though there is no way to order as a canadian. I'll bet it confuses the snot out of alot of people.
CyberHippie Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Wicked I love that Rhapsody! That's the future of music I think. Strange though that Canadians can't subscribe.
Mr. Musicface Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Hmmm, I wonder if you just lied and said you were from the States if they'd even pick it up? As long as they have a valid credit card number, how would they even know? It's not like they have to mail you anything. BTW CH, it's probably 'cus of the territory licensing agreements they have with the labels. It's the same reason they could never show Mystery Science Theatre 3000 in Canada even though Space wanted to buy it - the original films were only licensed for the US and it would have been too much of a pain for them to re-licence everything. However, with this sort of service I think ultimately they'll realize that they need international licensing if it's gonna be successful. Sure is a great service, right now I'm listening to all the live moe. they have to pysche up for them and DMB at Darrien Lake on Friday! Peace, Mr. M.
bouche Posted June 18, 2003 Author Report Posted June 18, 2003 I tried just throwing in a US address, but it verified that my CC didn't match that address. Can you have a canadian credit card at a US address? I could "move" to Vermont Dave's, change my mailing address with Visa, and then register with Rhapsody. After about 2 weeks, I'll "move" back. Loophole?
Mr. Musicface Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Actually, I think to have a credit card with a Canadian bank you have to have a Canadian address. A friend of mine who was working in the States had to "move" his credit cards to his parents place while he was down there. Although that might just have been his bank, bouche you should give it a shot and see what happens. - M.
