Using Digital Cameras?

on the top dial put it to "SCN".

use the directional key on the back to cycle through the modes.

the 2 in there that i think would work are "night snapshot" and "fireworks" - the fireworks setting might be useful because the lighting is probably similar enough that the settings are likely programmed fairly accurately. night snapshot might have a flash function, so you may have to turn that off - i'd play around with those and see what ya get.

one thing to be aware of, though, you're going to be limited to 400 ISO - i typically shoot band photos around 1600 ISO, sometimes down to 1000, sometimes up to 3200 (but rarely on that end).

what does that mean? you're getting 4 times less light into the camera (compared to 1600), making it harder to grab shots without streaking or blurring - but it can be done.

nice camera ya got there.

right - just to expand on what s'tube was driving at - if you set your camera to M on the top dial, you're in manual mode, then you can take your f-stop as low as possible (likely F3.5 or F4.5 w/ that camera), ramp up the iso to 400, and then adjust the shutter speed to an acceptable hand-holdable speed - which will probably yield varying results, and it's a little trickier, but its another way to really manipulate the camera to get the best possible results for that scenario.

ya, thats what i was trying to say.

used my manual mode for my concert shots....but eventually gave up, realizing i'm trying to shoot under the single most difficult shooting conditions...

i leave it up to pro's now, and just take shots of fish. Much easier.
