bouche Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 What were they thinking? From this day forward, I hereby renounce hockey and I will never watch it again.
Jaimoe Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 First the Leafs bought-out the contract of their best defenseman, Jyrki Lumme, then they go and release " Magic-hands " Hoglund. Who's next? Andres Eriksson? Wait a minute, he's gone too! Robert Reichel better watch his back.
Mr. Musicface Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Al Strachan had an interesting article on CANOE and I assume in the Sun today about the "pre-lockout NHL": http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam030623/col_strachan-sun.html The Leafs may not be alone in cutting guys loose in the next little while. Peace, Mr. M.
rubberdinghy Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 That`s not a bad as the Sens news... RIP Roger!!!
Jaimoe Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 Roger was a loss to hockey and humaity, not just the Sens. A strange fact about Roger is that he didn't have any living relatives. That being said, the entire hockey community was his family. A great extended family indeed. R.I.P. Captain Video.
Mr. Musicface Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 quote:A strange fact about Roger is that he didn't have any living relatives. That being said, the entire hockey community was his family.Scotty Bowman was quoted in the Star as saying something like "He never married because he was married to the game. I've worked pretty hard in my career but nobody worked at the game more than Roger." High praise indeed - you will be missed Roger. Peace, Mr. M.
Mr. Musicface Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 P.S. BTW, if you want to get a sense of what Roger meant to the players he coached, read some of Darryl Sittler's bio sometime, he just adored the man and he certainly wasn't alone.
Schwa. Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 First off, the loss of Mr. Neilson is such a shame. He was so classy and emiomized hockey to the fullest. BUT, horrible news? That is the best Leaf news i've heard since they picked up Nolan. Hogland was the highest paid, least producing person on the roster and the Leafs cannot afford to have a schmuck like that anymore. IMO, they gave him too much time to try and recover from his so called slump by letting him get past the trade deadline. So long Hogland, i hope that the money they paid you can get them a defense. 0.02 Schwa
Jaimoe Posted June 23, 2003 Author Report Posted June 23, 2003 Hey Schwa, I thought I was being obvious in my sarcasm. I hate Hoglund's game. I also hate Reichel's game too.
goldengrooves Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 if they start cutting loose to many bums off the team, we'll have to start blaming Sundin, Mogilny and Eddie for not winning us a cup....
Booche Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Quit yer Leaf whining, I'm sick of you TO fug sugs. This is far worse.
