ollie Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 quote: Originally posted by gentlemonkey: How the hell did SASS sneak in there? She must've made someone a believer.. Must be the Canadian Idol cachet. Speaking of which, anyone watching last night catch the girl who sang "give'r" when she forgot the lyrics to the song? Oh, don't pretend you don't watch.
spacecowboy Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 also on the line up Kathleen Edwards, The Isley Brothers, and La Chicane. plus..... Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi with "Have Love Will Travel" will host the concert, there is an article up on The toronto star webpage and at www.pollstar.com p.s Sass jordan is there because of canadian idol.
Jaimoe Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Paul, I know the Stones are headlining. They wouldn't and couldn't possibly open for any band.
gentlemonkey Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 right!! oddballs is right, what the hell - isley brothers?!? Has anyone seen the video that they put out say 2/3 years ago... YIKES! Its litterally scary, one brother wailing on the guitar, the other looking like some 50 year old gangstar type, sentencing this young dude to a beating and then begging his female assistant to let him 'come inside'.. fucking scary. I swear I thought it was a bad joke when I saw the video.. nope.. scary old men.
Jaimoe Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I saw it Gentlemonkey. It's weird to say the least.
spacecowboy Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 ill be there for Sam Roberts AC/DC Flaming Lips The Guess Who The Stones the rest of the time I'll drinking beer and wandering about.
Booche Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 That killed me MarcO hahahahahha....................
CyberHippie Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Well Warren may not be there, but I'm sure "our scene's" other music-whore, D.J. Logic, will be there.
Velvet Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 I tell ya, with 350,000 tickets up for sale, you won't find me anywhere near Toronto. Is anybody really gonna see anything? I'll watch it on the telly. ps pity if someone comes down with sars. Even one, and even if they brought it from somewhere else. Helluva quarantine that would be. pps Waitaminnit. Everybody's sure this is a good idea, right?
Velvet Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 By the way, when did Kathleen Edwards sign God as a booking agent?
MoMack Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Here's what sucks. The "free" stones concert is going to cost $35 by the time ticketmaster is done fucking us all up the ass. Horrible horrible. I was going to do it, but now I'm waffling.... oh, and isn't there some show in Chicago that weekend?
spacecowboy Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Sam Roberts AC/DC Flaming Lips (Fuck Yeah!) The GUess Who Justin TImberlake Sass Jordan and some band named The Rolling Stones 250,000 tickets to be released on friday at $21.50 a pop. you can bet I'll be there.
Jaimoe Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 I can't believe The Stones, AC/DC and the rest are opening for Justin Timberlake.
Dennis Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 My understanding is that the "take" from tix sales will go towards health care workers compensation, and $1 from each tix to some charity. But I could be wrong
teetervillestation Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 i think we should definately sue Ticketmaster MoMack, but I can't think of a decent lawyer!
Mr. Musicface Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Apparently you can avoid TM by buying your tickets at Dominion or A&P next week! "Yes, I'll take a litre of milk, some baby dills, and 2 Stones/AC-DC/Timberlake tickets please!" or "Keith Richards clean-up in aisle 4." Anyway, if I'm going I'll get 'em at Dominion to avoid TicketBastard. Peace, Mr. M.
