Jaimoe
Reggae is manditory. Thanks for the heads up Marc. I think Lenny Breau is a must too, along with a nice dose of Oscar Peterson.

kung
I wasn't looking for direct summer tunes but definitely agree with Beaster that Summer Babe (winter version) off of Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted '91 should go on every fucking mix tape. Throw some Ween on, there's a good cover of Birthday Boy by Mary Lou Lord for a woman's take on misogyny. My one for sure pick would be Anne Murray's You Won't See Me which happens to work thematically but mainly I'm just blown away that there's a good Anne Murray tune. phishin4groove
Summer wouldnt be complete without the very "summery" sounding version of Eyes of the World...The one on "1 From the Vault"....
Vermontdave
It's pretty hokey, but 'Good Vibrations' by the Beach Boys Anything by Sly Stone Anything by the Byrds when they were doin country in the early 70's Any Dead tune Anything on my grill!
