The Beneficiary:

The Third Wall Theatre Company has been on my "To Do" List for quite some time. Their publicist has done a great job letting me know who they are and what they do. As does this quote from their site.

"The mandate of Third Wall Theatre Co. is to present the well-known stories of the world repertory, shaped by imagination and told without pretention."

The Eats:

-Savana Cafe

(431 Gilmour St - 613-233-9159) - I have seen this little gem of cultural cuisine out of the corner of my eye every time I stop in at one of my favorite coffee shops. Their food is almost as colorful as their sign.

-Shawarma Palace

(464 Rideau St - 613-789-9533) - The Ottawa Police love this place. Everytime I walk by this restaurant I see at least 3 police cruisers parked. The food is great and is even better since they're open LATE.

The Beats:

This month the giveaways are provided by World Music Network's, Rough Guides Series (www.worldmusic.net). - If you have ever traveled to any destination that you needed a guide book for, you may have used one of their Rough Guides books, but you can also travel at home via their Rough Guides Music Series. This month we have their "Off the Beaten Track" sampler.

Always swanky in house beats.

** 7-9pm

beats w/ Emily Jones (emilyjones.ca, E18hteen, Social, Par-fyum)

** 9-10:30pm

Special Guest Chris Rockwell (Red Handed)

Live Art by:

John Gap has a style of work that sort of squiggles around in your vision long enough to be intoxicatingly beautiful. (www.flickr.com/photos/johngap)

Any Skanks feel like taking this in? If the weather's good on Friday, I'm thinking about dinner in the Byward Market*, and then maybe a bit of shopping/wandering around Rideau. Heading to this (7pm? 8pm?) for some tunage might make for a nice way to cap off the evening.

Aloha,

Brad

* My "start of spring" market is the first Friday I can have dinner on the patio at the Black Tomato.
