FunkyBeats
Does anyone have any live Billy Cobham shows from his super funk days?
AdamH
No but I have a few of his albums. They sort of rule and sort of suck at varying points because I don't think he was much of a bandleader, just one hell of a drummer.
Jaimoe
If you want better drummer-led band choices, give Tony "Bad-Ass Motherfucker" Williams and Jack DeJohnette a whirl.
FunkyBeats
Speaking of drummers who lead, two guys I have noticed recently at live shows who lead a lot of the changes in direction of the groove and/or develop segues are Stanton moore and John Molo. Molo blew my mind this summer, a very dominant force in the band. Edited September 25, 2006 by Guest Spelling

balogna pogna
Dimeadozen.org has some Cobham stuff from time to time. Some shows are great and some kinds suck as was mentioned above.Look for the Cobham/George Duke band as a young John Scofield is in the band too & an official live album is available (from 1974 Europe tour).
