mark tonin
For the August long weekend there will be free camping at Frontier Ghost Town for people that want to come up and enjoy the campground. Donations will be gratefully accepted and appreciated. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to hold the Labour Day Festival at Frontier Ghost Town. Mark Wilson is currently searching for an alternative venue, and is working hard to ensure that some sort of show or event happens for the Labour Day weekend. Please call him (519-759-1335) or send him an email (wilcometogether@hotmail.com) as soon as possible if you have any good leads or suggestions for an alternative venue. Peace, Mark

MamaPink
I'll be there for sure, and I'm bringin' a trunk full of props, wigs and silly glasses. I'm calling all my friends here in K-Town in hopes they'll join me. Donations will be gladly given. Hope to see a lot of you there!
doug
I wonder if the campground that hosts the Lose Yer Shoes festival would be up to hosting an event like CTMF?
cANDYmAN
How about Guelph Lake? The same place Hillside takes place. I hear that they just built a new stage too.... I'm not sure how much it is to actually book the site for the weekend. What's everybody in the Rockies doing for Jerry's birthday? Slammin Jack are celebrating the Captain's birthday at the Canmore Hotel with a set of Jerry tunes. Man I miss him!!!
Mr. Musicface
Hey, here's a question for August - seeing as there won't be any "official" musically acts playing, what are the chances for an "impromptu" Saloon party with whatever musicians are around on Saturday night? I'm thinking between the folks we could possibly drag up after the Jerry Tribute in Hamilton, we could probably put together a nice little jam-party-band for your late-night dancing pleasure... Certainly myself and some of the Uncle Seth folks would be interested. (Although not likely the whole band.) Anybody know what the situation with the sound gear at Frontier Town is? I'm guessing it's usually rented gear that Mark Wilson brings in. Anyone have a small PA they'd be willing to donate to the cause? And who else would be interested in jamming? I'm thinking Huxtables, possibly some Sanzwill or Rose Garland folks, any Toronto folks, , basically anybody who's not adverse to jamming for free for a good cause and one last hoorah at the ole Ghost Town. Whatdaya all think? Peace, - Mr. M. P.S. I am going out of town 'til Thursday after today, but I'll try to check in on this thread and see if anyone else is game. If so, perhaps we can chat about it at Pepper Jacks on Friday.
\/\/illy
I'm thinking that I love the saloon. Really love the saloon. Make it happen!
Mr. Musicface
Ah yes, the Saloon... it would certainly seem right to have one last party there. I'm hoping Mark Wilson will be able to be around, it would be only fitting to have him jam on a few last tunes before CTMF moves on to (hopefully) greener pastures. We'll see, as I said I'll be out of town starting in about 10 hours (flying out of Buffalo on the red-eye) so if others wanna keep the ball a-rollin', please do! - M. onthejourney
i was going to suggest killiloe (sp?) as well...apparently it is pretty good up there...the locals are great from what i hear. It is kinda far though, just past Algonquin I think. Either way something has to be done about Labour Day weekend...i hope it all comes together soon. SaggyBalls
the drive is worth it. totally cool place, not uptight and sketchy about nice people. the drive isn't that bad...between toronto and ottawa, far from windsor and london and niagara falls but if it were there all along you'd have gone there. it'd be kickin...i like phishin4groove's idea though. enough land with no neighbours to complain?? why not?? kurly
I like the Guelph Lake idea
Super Freak
Guelph Lake is a Provincial Park. Hillside is a FAMILY festival. CTMF would be great there but it by no means, would be the same as frontiertown. FrontierTown has an "anything goes" vibe, it would not be like that at Guelph Lake. You would have to behave yourself...IMO anyways...I would go though, I would be able to bring my girls, which was not an option at FrontierTown-to wild for kids.
