I used to throw Too Late on when I was nervous about passing cops and tell whoever I was with "getaway music..." the early stuff is great but their much later recordings I found pretty lacking (don't know if Sam Bush or Bela were still with the band)

kung Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Got onto a New Grass kick as of late and it's paying off in spades. I've been leaning to the covers in particular Angel Eyes! So good this version with almost a reggae breakdown (off Anthology) at the end. Also the Norwegian Wood is sublime- it's a live version in front of a big stadium audience so it may be Oakland opening for the Dead. Can you imagine the young Bela at like 20 tops raging to a huge stadium in Oakland.
