Rob Not Bob
Folks, We're just over two weeks away from the Ottawa Pagan Picnic, and it's set to be a great time. We have hit a snag with the sound system ... the PA we were looking to use had a column blow up, so we are still looking to scrounge something together ... I am sure that we will working something out, but if any of the Ottawa musicians on the board would be able to donate the use of a PA, it would be hugely appreciated. Here is the word from Cheryl, our wonderful host, on all that is going on with the sound system and the work she has been doing to help promote the music : Hi everyone, I have an amp, mike and stand which is good for a solo acoustic performer. The mike stand is a swing arm. I also have a Dean Markley pick up if someone needs one to plug in. Totally adequate for the event - I use it all the time. My brother is in Spain right now so I can't ask him about his board etc. It is also a fairly big job to get it from there to here as he lives in another community - I would have to organize a couple of trucks to move the speakers - two big Marshal amps etc. He has a 12 channel board and the amp that the Five Man Electrical Band used to use - one of those old style rotating speakers - beautiful wood - I doubt we can use it though. Dave's suggestion was that the bands try and figure out between them who could bring what. You don't need to mike the drums - maybe the bass and cymbals just for better quality but you could get away without it. My brother also has a couple of mikes and stands. I do have two other mikes that are quite workable although probably not good enough. I have added information and links at Tarot Canada Events - this is the current information I have and subject to change and confirmation. I also added the information to Random AXess and individual links to the band URL's at Random AXess links I also have band links on the Tarot Canada homepage Tarot Canada in the left hand column. You can also add links to the FFA section in the middle of the TC homepage. I will be running all of these in the Sept 1 (I hope to have it out on that date) issue of our newsletter - the online version goes out now to about 400 people and the links will all be clickable there as well. Past issues are archived at Future Endeavours - if you join you can add links to the links section in this group as well. I will also be running the info in the print version of the newsletter - copies will be available at the party. It isn't fancy but it is good and I send out 150 copies every issue across Canada and to other countries. I am doing what I can to promote this. Computer problems and viruses seem to be slowing everyone down and the PPO official site isn't updated yet. Please keep me current as to individual artists and URL's if available. I couldn't get the Butterflies and Zebras link to work but it is up anyway just in case it is a server type of problem. Please feel free to share the link with the current info with anyone who is interested in this. Sorry to blather on like this but I am looking forward to it and sincerely appreciate everyone's willingness to participate. I am trying to do what I can to reciprocate. It would be good if people came to see the place and the stage. We can build anything required. ******************************************* I want to take this moment to thank Cheryl for the generous use of her land for this event and all of the hard work she has put into helping the event. I have spoken to her about possibly having a small JamBands music festival on her land some time next summer and she is interested in the idea, hopefully a good amount of the JamBand community can get out there and check out the site. Rob Not Bob
It's going to be a great day, folks ... I strongly recommend that folks bring water (along with food, of course ) to keep from being dehydrated. Also, if folks are staying for the after-party, they should bring a sweater or warmish jacket because it can get cool in the evening. Looking forward to seeing folks out there, it's going to be a lot of fun. Rob not Bob

larry jr.
Yeah, I had a fun time, notwithstanding Hux's over-Bobby-fication. The Weight will never be the same. Wish I could have stayed longer. Who knew pagans were so cool? (clearly the promises of a goat sacrifice were nothing but lies) Thanks Rob!
