windows update

i have now had to restart a field laptop im updating 18 times. and it was fully updated at the beginning of august. each time requires a manual log in to the wireless network at the university. good thing I only have 4 other laptops to update as well.

yeah, you kind of have to keep up on those updates, but I don't think there was that many critical updates since august.

My favourite update is the "Genuine Windows Advantage" update. Fuckers...

you are right, bouche, there werent that many critical updates, but cisco clean agent seems to think i have not yet done everything, despite the fact that windows says im fully updated.

double ugh.

Or you could get a mac, which updates itself and never disturbs you.

Bad idea though if you're using programs that haven't been "apple approved" and compatible with the latest updates...such as Pro Tools, Logic, AVID, etc...

Better to turn off the automatic update and check to see if it's safe when your third party software states compatibility.
