Yes, the summer months are over, but there is still so much to celebrate! Here at NuFunk HQ, we have been busy setting up some great shows you won't want to miss! - upcoming shows include Toubab Krewe, Chameleon Project, The Jimmy Swift Band, God Made Me Funky, Delhi2Dublin, Herbaliser Band and a special Toronto Tribute to reggae legend Peter Tosh. Up our sleeves is also a mega Freak the Funk-Out Halloween Party with mash up King DJ Z-Trip, Deekline & Wizard and your favorite Make it Funky DJs. NUFUNK.ca has also teamed up with The Small World Music Society helping them get the word out about their world music festival series that culminates next Tuesday with Mali Guitarist Vieux Farka TourÃ© at Mod Club, son of multi-Grammy winning artist Ali Farka TourÃ©. Other shows include CD Release Party Jason Wilson with special guests Ernest Ranglin & Pee-Wee Elis at Hugh's Room on Thursday and Friday ( listen to Jason's new album The Peacemaker's Chauffeur here) and the show we are most excited about: US/African Guitar World Beat Jam Collective Toubab Krewe with Toronto's very own High Plains Drifter this Sunday at Revival. From the stages of Bonnaroo to The Festivals in West Indies, Toubab Krewe has soaked up the patterns and rhythms of music from Mali, Zimbabwe, Congo, Brazil and the Caribbean and added a hint of Jerry Garcia's legato guitar to wide acclaim.
