Kanada Kev Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 What a sad bit of news. What a great actor. So many good movies and memories. I'll always think of Cool Hand Luke when i eat/see hard boiled eggs
Biggest Fan Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 I admire the fact that such a 'large figure' kept such a low profile.
balogna pogna Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 My cat loves "Newman's Own" Organic Cat food.I'm going to break the news to him now..........
bradm Posted September 27, 2008 Author Report Posted September 27, 2008 My cat loves "Newman's Own" Organic Cat food.I'm going to break the news to him now..........Try doing it on the roof. If the roof is hot, and made of tin, so much the better.Aloha,Brad
The Chameleon Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 Sad truly one of the greats! They don't make actors like that anymore.. R.I.P.
Jaimoe Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 A classy man, a family man and devoted husband and one of the finest actors of the last 60 years. Newman is one of my all-time favourite actors and reading this sad news a minute ago has hurt me deeply. 83 is a good age to go out, but cancer isn't the way to do it. R.I.P. Fast Eddie, Reg and Luke, and many more.
phishtaper Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 big philanthropist too ... his salad dressings and popcorn, etc. have raised a cool quarter BILLION dollars for summer camps and other charities. classy guy. not many like him. rip.

bouche Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 fack. I know he wasn`t going to act anymore, and his product line is doing well on it`s own. However, that was shocking news to read. I had no idea he was in ill health. I had some amazing movie appreciation moments thanks to him growing up. Cool Hand Luck, Butch Cassidy and the sundance Kid, the Sting, The Colour of Money, and of course Slapshot.I think I learned to appreciate older movies thanks to his films.bon voyage paul newman.

Rob Not Bob Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 The Verdict is one of my all time favorite movies, almost entirely due to his performance. RIP
d_rawk Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 "I want Brick. Where's my Brick?" - Big MommaRIP. You'll be missed, handsome.
kookycanooky Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Sad news. I just finished watching the Simpsons where homer weighs 300lbs...He vents radio active gas into the farmers field, who replies "Oh no, the corn! Paul Newman's going to have my legs broke!"Bummer...Cool Hand Luke was a favorite. RIP.
Freak By Night Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I watched one of his movies recently - "Absence of Malice" from 1981. Also in this movie were Sally Field and a young Bob Balaban. I don't think it was a great movie but one thing that amazed me - something you don't see much in movies anymore - was that most of the characters were smoking constantly. Except Paul Newman - he didn't need a cigarette to look cool.
djmelbatoast Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Cool Hand Luke is one of my favorites.RIP
