DevO Posted April 7, 2009 Report Share Posted April 7, 2009 There were many a rumour for the past several months that this International Youth Internship Program would be scrapped, but looks like they've renewed for 5 years. From an email from CIDA: Dear partner organizations,The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is pleased to announce the renewal of the International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) for a period of 5 years (2009-2014). The new guidelines and application form will be made available on the CIDA website in the next week. The International Youth Internship Program is an employment program for young Canadian professionals (ages 19 to 30 inclusive) that provides graduates with valuable career-related employment experience abroad, mentoring and coaching to build advances employability. The program is part of the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy (YES) which gives young people the tools and experience they need to launch successful careers. Blane Posted April 8, 2009 Report Share Posted April 8, 2009 Nice to see. We (former interns) had been putting in a bunch of testimonial stuff to try to keep it going. Totally worthwhile programme. I'm off to spend the weekend with 4-5 other past interns, all of whom are doing great stuff on the environment and sustainable development many years later.
