So hot on the heels of other highly lucrative superhero franchises, G.I.Joe is getting a live action makeover. I am a self-confessed G.I.Joe freak as the toys pretty much dominated my childhood.

Have you seen the trailer yet?

Looks decent enough except for those silly looking suits. However one thing has me worried... Cobra Commander. First of all the casting of the kid from 3rd Rock From The Sun as the most heinous and bumbling villain had me scratching my head. But in the end who really cares since he wears that awesome hood or cowl all the time. Here he is in all his evil glory as we know him:

However the first images of his movie counterpart have leaked, and, well, just look at this:

Not nearly as fearsome. It looks like Cobra Commander might end up being simply Destro's army field commander, and it will be Destro who will call the shots. At least they kept Destro's look consistent if the following leaked image is real:

Additional worrying news: Stephen Sommers, director of the movie was rumoured to be fired from post-production on the film by Paramount, after a test screening of G.I. Joe allegedly resulted in the lowest scores in the studio’s history! This is unverified but highly concerning.
