Big Wooly Mammoth
thanks for the review - and nice pictures.i was there Friday night. I just happened to be in town for a meeting and grabbed a floor ticket from Craigslist for $50 on Friday. Can't speak highly enough of the show. wow. Attics was the highlight for me. didn't know it was a possibility. but not a complete surprise knowing that Teresa, Amy, and Larry all participated in the american beauty project.Colin Linden also sat in for two tunes, including The Weight. The two hours just whizzed by. Lucinda was great as well. She joined Levon for The Weight and I shall be Released.
NewRider
So they played separately? I was under the impression the show was them playing together.
lsamuel3
the band cleared off during Attics, it was just Teresa, Amy and Larry on this one.
Big Wooly Mammoth
Lucinda opened with a 70 minute set. Levon et al played for 2 hrs. Lucinda joined them for those two tunes.

TheGoodRev
Am I missing something here? Was there no bass player on the job?
Kanada Kev
Yes there was. His name was Byron I believe. Played a double-bass for the set. He took lead vocals on one song (can't remember, sorry) and he had a great voice. I ran into TimmyB briefly after the preshow talk in the pub downstairs. I'm sure he took detailed notes and can chime in with all the missing stuff
Big Wooly Mammoth
Byron Isaacs. he plays bass in Ollabelle, which also includes Amy Helm. if you haven't heard them you need to check them out - seriously.
MuleMomma
I knew I should've been writing...not that I knew every song, but it could've jogged my memory. On Saturday night, I remember the 2nd song (missing from the setlist) was "Baby, I Love You" (if that's the correct title) - an Aretha Franklin cover maybe. And wow, I didn't remember Amy Helm's voice being that wonderful and soulful when I saw them play together at the Silver Dollar, back about maybe 7-8 years ago.And I remember there was a "Mardi Gras Day" in there (if that's the correct title, and I'm thinking it could be a Dr. John song, or perhaps just an old standard)? The entire show had a real New Orleans kind of cajun feel IMHO - I was very pleasantly surprised!Gotta love those horns too!! And Levon seemed to be in fine form, and in a really happy mood, grinnin' ear to ear!
Big Wooly Mammoth
and Steven Bernstein on trumpet! I had no idea that it was him until the introductions. He's an awesome jazz musician and band leader in his own right. was a lounge lizard, in sex mob.
edger
Glad to hear the positive reviews. Little choked I didn't catch this one...Amy was a highlight for me too the last time they rolled through Massey last year. And Attics?? Damn.
