MarcO Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 That Big Cypress soundcheck was a blast! Brian (hamilton) and I arrived about 2 hours earlier, set up camp, grabbed a few beers each and wandered. Eventually, we thought we heard the band playing (!) and found ourselves at the outer gate of the concert grounds. We stood there, with probably a thousand or so other people happy as clams, for an hour while Phish played a killer soundcheck, including a looooooooong spacey Timber Ho!. People were dancing and getting down to Mighty Quinn, it was a real special beginning to a very special weekend in Florida. (sigh)
kung Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Momadance has some soundchecks from Japan (want to say 2000). There's a great jokey Live and Let Die, a Trey Talking Jam ('I can't wait to get back home on the plane') and a Zep Osaka jam. Really interesting to listen to especially since they were probably six stories up in an arcade complex.
Schwa. Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 MarcO, that is almost exactly what we did. Went wanderin once we got the camp up, got some gooo balls and listened to the soundcheck. Checked out the enchanted forest after that and never looked back.
