Del
quote: Basher Member # 331 posted 03-12-2004 09:17 AM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I was thinking about it. What's the deal with Contact? What kind of band are they? Well, at a nero afterparty in London, Jay from nero couldn't tell if the music on the stereo was nero or not... It ended up being Contact... Kind of along the lines of theNEWDEAL, but a little harder and more rocking... At least if I remember correctly... It WAS a nero afterparty

Pablo Sanchez
I think Contact are a great band from what I've heard. I've got their cd (sorry Todd) and I it sounds awesome. Standout keyboard player and all round kick ass band.
CyberHippie
Yeah from what I understand they are a New Deal kinda band but with congas, and maybe guitar?
shainhouse
5 piece (guitar, keys/guitar, bass, percuission and drums) good stuff. I've seen them 3-4 times, both at Pepper Jack's and Mermaid's here in the Hammer. Along with that they sold out the Rivoli on NYE for their CD release party, so they have a pretty good thing going on in Toronto.
M
Yup, these guys are talented folk and great guys to boot... Shakey (conga player and "Safety 4th" on this board) used to be a roommate of mine in uni... and some of the members of this band played together back at Queens that used to do a lot of shows with the Pocket Dwellers. They are playing a lot lately and are doing really well! For all you Trailer Park Boys fans, CONTACT played a private party last week for House of Blues at the new awesome live venue at the renovated "Drake Hotel" in downtown Toronto. The Trailer Park boys were rocking out to their set in true TP form!!! Maybe we'll see them out tonight? Check out the new website at www.contacttheband.ca for more info on the band... I'd love to see these guys playing at some of the summer festivals too... high energy fun fun fun!!!

Large Marge
Chin, chin. Margie's in! Actually Mary, I don't know if I thanked you for recommending these guys the last time... I had a blast and have been waiting for the opportunity to see them again. Consider them approved by Large "M" as well.
