I know what you mean, and I agree with you wholeheartedly(sp?), but...
... I'd rather take my chances with terrorist bombings than have big brothers nose up my ass for the rest of my life
-this kind of a statement seems to me like an acceptance of terrorism, like as if terrorism and us neo fascism are two sides of a coin. This is exactly the mindframe that terrorism is trying to achieve. There is so much we don't know about what is really going on in the world, and to base opinions on a bunch of talking heads and to be actually influenced by any of them(bush, kerry, cheney, il jongh, bin laden, sharon, blair, whatever) is a no-win situation. When you say "I'll take terrorism over having no rights", you are being propagandized by SOMEONE. Whoever that is, we can have no idea. With the amount of spin that we have on every bit of information that we recieve, I personally think that it's important to step back and not really listen to any of it, and form a really vague, wishy-washy opinion of the whole thing. Bin Laden might be seen as the only effective resistence to american imperialism right now, but personally I think that during the next bush term the us will suffer a huge collapse and won't need the help of terrorist cells. Many things could happen there, a radical example would be a civil war. This is turning into a rant, for which I apologize, and I must say that I do agree with you and I'm not trying to put you down or anything, I just think any of this societal logic should have "terrorist bombings" taken out of the equation completley, because the whole point of terrorism is that it become part of the equation in any form. That's what I think, anyways.

I think the point of the new video was to get the left to side with bin laden, and fuel the hatred between the left and the right, and the hatred between the US and the rest of the world. Judging by some of the views expressed on this forum, it seems to be working. Comparing bush to bin laden, or the u.s. military to al qaeda is exactly what bin laden wants you to do. Although bin laden may have some valid points in his speech, the route he has taken to have his voice heard is despicable and should not be encouraged. If you want to learn about the bloodbath that is u.s. foreign policy, listen to someone like Noam Chomsky, don't listen to a terrorist. Just my opinion,

I don't think so, not on cnn anyways. I'm sure they'd prefer if the whole incident was quickly forgotten. Hopefully this clip gets around the web enough and gets some exposure. It's sad that someone as well known as Jon Stewart can trash mainstream media on cnn and the whole thing goes relatively undetected.

Thanks man. I can't believe this hasn't been posted already. I thought it was pretty awesome

We shouldn't be arguing until I really get a chance to post my original thing, but until tomorrow, get a good antithesis made up!
ps. I don't think the beatles fit your model of jamming out songs, they really did the opposite, no frills

I'll write it again tomorrow, it was basically a theory on how the jambands style is at a dead end because they depend on other genres as a base. Because of this, they really have no style to call their own. I'll flesh it out more tomorrow, I don't feel like writing all that out again. goodnight!!

I just wrote a huge thing, previewed it, hit back- OOps, it's gone, hit forward- oooh, can't be refreshed or whatever. Do I need to have a fuking C+++ phd to use this thing? and ya sorry I don't know what UBB code is, but I"m sure it's really useful. Man, it was hard enough making a membership here. I use a lot of forums too, and this one is the least user friendly I've ever seen.

I think you're missing my point.
