  1. holy beating a dead horse

thoroughly enjoyed both Wassabi by the campfire and also Friends of Hefner in the Saloon that night at CTMF (3 years ago)... it was truly fine having some rhythym to keep dancing to when you needed a breath of air from the saloon

DING DING DING! Great response. Do we have to discuss this everytime Wassabi's name is mentioned?

  2. No NHL? not a problem for my boy Chelios (go WINGS)

    Chelios partnered with Hatcher

FRASER, Mich. -- It didn't take long for Detroit Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios to contribute Friday night in the first minor-league hockey game of his career.

On the second shift of his UHL debut with the Motor City Mechanics, the three-time Norris Trophy winner scored on a power play with a blast from the right point.

Chelios was partnered on the blue line with fellow Red Wings defenseman Derian Hatcher, who made his Mechanics debut Wednesday night in Flint.

The Red Wings where on the ice for all but one of the regulation goals in the Mechanics' 4-3 shootout victory over the Rockford IceHogs before a capacity crowd of 3,110 fans at Great Lakes Sports City Arena. Both Red Wings were stopped on their shootout opportunities.

The Detroit players, including center Kris Draper, signed with the minor-league club on Tuesday. Draper, who did not play Friday because of difficulty getting a work visa, wore an olive green suit and stood with the coaches behind the bench.

The 4½-month NHL lockout reached its 142nd day Friday and has wiped out 775 regular-season games and the All-Star Game. The remainder of the 1,230-game schedule could be called off soon.

  3. ________________________________________

"Last year, the bishops released a statistical review that found 4,392 priests had been accused of molesting children in 10,667 cases between 1950 and 2002.

    ________________________________________

You're telling me that some dude never acted gay so he can try and score with some chick? I'm sure the statistics for that would be staggering as well. I think a lot of problems would be solved if the clergy were allowed to marry, which of course is forbidden by the Catholic church.

But "trying to score a chick" is not illegal. Molesting children is. If you do it - you are a sex criminal, and go to jail. It ruins lives, these are not just statistics, think of the lives of the families of these victims - many who have committed suicide.

  4. Have you ever heard of Bonobos? Possibly our closest relative?

"They seem to resolve a lot of their conflicts with sexual behaviour," he says. "If two bonobos have a fight, they may make up with a sexual reconciliation, which is typical for their species. So there's a lot of sexual activity that goes on that has more social meaning than reproductive meaning." Their sexuality also mirrors humans in a couple of other ways, too.

"Bonobos have a greater variety of sexual postures," he reveals. "The bonobos can do it any way they want – and they can do it face to face also. So positionally – so to speak – they have a richer repertoire.

And their sexual behaviour is not just male to female. It's also female-to-female and male-to-male and male-to-juvenile." In fact, they make the human sexual revolution of the sixties and seventies look tame.

What really matters however, is that humans do this.

  5. Sadly, church bashing has become an accepted form of dialogue but hate speech is still hate speech regardless whether we are talking about gays or Catholics.

I find it interesting that so many people love to question, almost slander, the Catholic church and their beliefs, with no media repercussions, yet if anyone mention gays in a negative light it's like they are bringing up the Holocaust.

    slan•der

    n.

    1. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.

    2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone.

So people label priests as pedophiles and the pope says homosexuality is evil...let's check the record, who is slandering who?

    from: http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/2005/02/18/abuse-050218.html

"Last year, the bishops released a statistical review that found 4,392 priests had been accused of molesting children in 10,667 cases between 1950 and 2002.

The cost of payouts to victims has now climbed to $840 million, McChesney said.

"The crisis of sexual abuse of minors within the Catholic church is not over," she said. "What is over is the denial that this problem exists."

The data was compiled in visits to dioceses nationwide by audit teams, comprised mainly of former FBI agents."

The catholic church is admitting these crimes took place by paying victims.

Saying priests are pedophiles therefore, is not exactly slander, so where are the statitics that back up the Pope's views on homosexuals?

The Pope is slandering homosexuals and encouraging hate - nice beliefs.

  6. I worked in a bar for several years and can’t stand the people who argue with the doorman because they think they are so “important” and pull the “Do you know who I am?” routine. They need to lay off the powder and get off the Ivory tower.

The bar got full. The unexpected happens sometimes. Ever hear of fire codes? If a bar gets shut down, they make NO money. People, who show up late for shows and can't get in, have no one to blame but themselves.

And if you don’t get to the bar until 12:30 or so, a 1:30 stop time will disappoint you [color:"purple"] (I wonder why) . I am sure the bar would have liked to have more room to let people in and make more money.

Congratulations to the band for filling the bar and playing the music that is in their souls.
