Yeah, a 20 min Mike's Groove...really rushed! C'mon!
One word can explain Sunday night's show - CACTUS.
Mikey Gordon for m.v.p., he was in fine form and dropping bombs.
First set highlights - Timber (jerry) and Antelope. Second set highlights -Fluffhead and Slave.
They are really bringing the heat.
BTW, Bethel Woods is an incredible place to see music.

Greetings from Gamehenge!
The Pack A.D. , a power-duo out of Vancouver is hitting Nova Sotia soon and are planning to blow you away with their hard edged blues. There are playing Sept. 5th in Halifax(Gus's Pub) and Sept.6th in Kentville (King's Arms Pub) and is definitely not a show to be missed.

They are willing to give a taper a space on the guest list + one to record the show and give them a copy (of course).
All they ask is that you e-mail Maya (the drummer and organizer) in advance:
trackthepack@gmail.com
so she can arrange things with the venues.
Please PM me if anyone is available.
jah bless

This is a shameless grovel....
I was wondering if there was anyone heading back to Montreal after The Slip show in Ottawa Dec.15th. I would love to attend the blessed event, but I have to work 7 a.m. the Sat. morning after. If anyone can help me out please PM me.
Thanks.
Mark

i'll be there in spirit...the ol' day job prevents me from attending...it's all up to you know Blane-o, gotta represent ya'll....oh well, just save me energy for Vanderpark then...
-
i recomment the Montreal Wilco tapes too...I got a good pull to w/ my rig this year...the wilco tour didn't vary too, too much from night to night, so if you dload 2 or 3 shows, you'll get the gist of their tour....the 184 sources from out West sound amazing too....
i know these aren't the Ottawa show, but that one might turn up sooner or later...

choda - now that's grimy my friends.....ewwww
-
congrats to you both to making it this far, it's all downhill from here.....
yeeehaw - give 'er....

'92 and '93 were the best years for me, summer 1995 was a frickin' blast after the torch of the Dead was passed to them, and phall 1997 cannot be touched. PERIOD.
-
great review Ollie...sorry I missed it!

Invisible, impossible, improbable, incapable or a bus that's immovable.......you knew I was going to rant eh? ARGGGGH!
-
WHAT THE HEY? Went downtown Montreal to see Slowcoaster and Co. play part of the 'Summer Invincible Tour' only to find out that there bus broke down, again? MY ARSE INVINCIBLE!
The romantic notions of travelling in a rickety school bus really paid off eh?
Anyway, I hope everybody in the bands are ok, and I hope that someone else in the country will get to see them. Really sucks balls that the show cancelled because lots of pholks here would have enjoyed it. Would have been nice to have some heads-up....
-
1997 - defiintely
1993 - close second
1991- close 3rd
IMO, phish was beating a dead horse after Big Cypress...
-
DICKEY WAS AWESOME, I AGREE...there was a Franklin's tease at the beginning of 'Liz Reed too! I saw that show, and still got to The Slip in time...
Dickey really was givin' 'er!
I had no problems standing in front of people in lawn chairs for that show...too bad for them if they didn't want to get off their asses and dance...
-
edit to the setlist - opener was an intor narrated by Leonard Cohen - The Sound Of Silence, and the show was encored by an a capella version of Slip Sliding Away....
-
Can Blane and I expect to see some of you ol' phreaks here for the Wilco show....it's my cherry poppin' Wilco event...from all accounts of this tour - it's going to be a DOOOSIE!
-
DOWN WITH LAWN CHAIRS AND THE NEWSPAPER REAING YUKS!! GET UP AND DANCE!
can't wait for Wed!
