  1. Hey Everyone - this band really kicks ass.

The Band features Charlie Glasspool, Wyatt Burton and Mathias Kom all from the Silver Hearts - Plus Kait on the killer vocals and Jenny taking the low end ...wow....

It is Sorta Amy Winhousey burlesquey punk 60s soul blues put a big smile on your face type of stuff.

You don't want to miss it!!

    http://www.myspace.com/kissandtells

Born amidst the din of General Electric and the smoke stacks of local industry, The Kiss and Tells call to mind a band out of time and place. A time when people played from their guts on real instruments and without vocal pitch shifters. A place where bands played high school proms and secret engagements known only to the in-the-know.

Barely out of diapers, The Kiss and Tells have already built a rabid following of dance party R n' B punk soul hard lounge-core enthusiasts. The band features the astonishing powerhouse voice of Kait Do-it with devilish accomplice Wyatt 'Red Squirrel' Burton on stringed things and vocals. The rhythm section features Jenny G-Spot on the very low end of love and the triumphant invading blows of Genghis Kom on war machine. Rounding out the group is Charnobyl and his uncompromising nuclear assault on keys and trumpet. The Kiss and Tells are looking forward to releasing their debut album "Love School" on Banbury Park Records this spring.

The new CD is hot off the presses and will be available at the show.

  2. After a stripped down version of the Silver Hearts played a nutty showcase for the Pop Montreal Festival, there will be a full fledged Folkestra assault on La Sala Rossa (4848 Saint-Laurent) on Sunday October 15th

Come shake your derriere and experience the action of one of Ontario’s favourite live acts – you won’t want to miss this.

“The sleaze, the revelry, the tension, the tenderness, the blood, the tears and the tumbleweed are all here, as are the law, the outlaw, the good little lady and the sassy whore.â€

From Lorraine Carpenter’s Montreal Mirror review of Dear Stranger – The Silver Heart’s 2006 release that hit University Charts from Halifax to Kamloops and everywhere in between.

    Just remember –

"A concert by the Silver Hearts is like a steaming pot of gumbo. Knock back a mouthful and you'll find a little bit of everything in it: ragtime, cow-punk, Tin Pan Alley, little chunks of bluegrass. Loose-limbed and good-natured, The Silver Hearts music is also tight and centered. "

band... one moment and then a bluesy-woozy outtake from Tom Waits' Bone Machine the next, and they have no qualms about wailing a teary ballad at the drop of a Stetson.

Can't believe Ron Sexsmith came out as well!!!!!

Regarding new CD - it will be coming in the new year and we are insanely excited about it - a bunch of songs with Andre Ethier - who blew me away at Hugh's Room (somewhat more polished than when they first played together in August - but still that RAW feel)

  12. Hey Guys

Just to clear that up, they are not going to be "doing" the Last Waltz - the globe just mentioned that it was "their own variation" on the Last Waltz - i.e. some of their own tunes, and backing with the other artists....

.....we were just happy to get mentioned in the Globe - if you read the original press release at the top of the thread, that is a good description of the show.

Sorry about the confusion, but I KNOW that the show will not disappoint!!!!

    See you there!!

    Steve
