  1. Thanks for the kind words everyone, DMH was very glad to play for you.

I myself smashed two fingernails and my thumbnail on my keys (as per usual) to do my part!

Was very glad to have been able to belt out the couple of request and then to act as a backing band on a few songs as well...we were quite looking forward to that :)

    Congrats!

  2. Once the Bell guy comes tonight to straighten out my internet (running about at 1/20th the speed for whatever reason) I'll make sure I start streaming any and all things that occur in the jamspace in the basement.

I need to start gettin some new music to play from newer artists.

  3. All of my family members named their kids with the same first innitial.

James, Jenny, Jill, Jess, Joe etc...

    I'm the only M (mmmmmmmmmmmmmm)

    Goodness! I'm not alone:

Jonathan, Jason, Jim, Judy, aunts Jane & Janice, uncle John...grampa...Gerry (close enough).

What's worse...in my home town, there was another family with exactly the same given names as mine. In a town of like, 2000 ppl.

My useless fact (other than that): I've been on Homegrown cafe and JJ Clarke is much bigger than you realize.

  4. Fortunately for us, if they do reunite, Sting can still sing the way he did back in the day.

Something I've noticed is that people will pay for the tickets to a see a lesser version of what once was. You can hear cover bands that sound more like the originals sometimes.

List of more mainstreamy singers that can/sorta can/can't hit the highnotes anymore (but certainly are still worth watching):

    [color:green]CAN

Sting: Saw him last year here in Ottawa (two years ago maybe?), shitty seats, but he was classy as usual. Sang a bunch of old stuff.

Roger Hodgson: Seen a bunch of footage of him (and on Canadian Idol...not that I watched anything but that five minutes). Who'd win in a fight? Roger or Geddy Lee?

Eddie Vedder: Smashing concert in Montreal...sat in the Penalty box area, lots of legroom!

Burton Cummings: He can hit the notes, but not with the scratchiness of yester-year.

Elton: (since his surgery in Australia in...199X)

Loved it when I saw him and the original band, but he can't do the falsetto anymore.

AC/DC: Looking forward to their tour if they commit, but Brian tops out now on his power/range.

Our Lady Peace: I hate them and they suck. He's terrible, live.

    Any more?

  5. 20 minutes nuthin'! It's like 10 mins south of Hunt Club. About 2 mins past Barfhaven.

I'll see you there as usual.

If anyone is interested, there is a P.A., 2 guitars, bongos, various shakers (instruments AND chicks), my Clavia Nord 88 key piano 2 mixers and 3 mics.

It's always a good time without fail, good jams to be had, etc.

  6. No surprise, but I'm a Gabriel/Collins/Genesis fan.

Turns out, it will be BOTH Peter and Phil for the North American stretch (so sayeth the radio). PG has other commitments that prevent him from joining the Europe stretch. Well worth paying Elton prices for (PG's concert was outstanding when I saw it in Toronto...him alone is > Elton).

Carpet Crawlers for sure then, they redid it as a duet (sorta) for one of the recent greatest hits albums.

  7. I was a little miffed by the lockout stuff too, MORE concerned when they were limiting people to the pissers!

I had a blast playin' last night for what people were there. I'm very fortunate to be playin with Tad Hackish...I couldn't ask for a better group of dudes.

We'll be cookin up some originals between now and the next time!

Thanks for everyone who came out. Thanks again to Brad for recording the whole thing. IJ and SJO kicked ass.

    cheers!
