Killer band!
Thanks GoodRev. We're doin' our best to keep up with Huron! No easy task! Can't wait to hear that record!

I know Peter Forbes when he played in a East Coat rock band from PEI called The Rude Mechanicals. Good to hear he is still rockin'.
Pete's definitely still rockin'! More now than ever I'd say. I'll tell him you're on here Jay. I think he has an account.
Mella (our drummmer) was also in the Rudes.

great recap! you'll enjoy the floors!

Newfoundland's Blair Harvey is making a guest appearance at this show. He's playing a couple of songs with Jetset Motel. Should be... interesting!

yeah, that was amazing! Floor tix were great. I was back closer to the sound booth, but with a great sight line and the audio was great! Everything was clear. What a show!
Wilco really brought it too!

great thread! I'm trying to learn more about recording as well. My band has been recording our practices for a while now, playing around with mic placements. We originally just used two condenser mics in the room and we able to come up with a decent sound

But this method gave little control after the fact.. it was all mic placement.
We've now go four mics to use but we're still figuring out where to place them.

Our gear isn't that great though. We're actually using two laptops both set up with a Line 6 toneport UX2. So two tracks on each machine. Ideally I'd like to get something like the Firepod which will make my life a lot easier. Do those of you that have the firepod recommend it?

Mike Ribeiro shootout goal from last night. Intentional or accidental?
Beauty Move.. Intentional for sure.
yeah, i think so too.

Burke done as the ducks GM..
heading to toronto?
that will definitely be the hot rumour until he signs somewhere. I'm not convinced he's the best man for the job though.

You may have to intonate your bass. A setup is always good but you could probably do that yourself with the right allen keys and screwdriver.
I don't think there are any cons to changing strings.
If the gauge is the same there might be very little to setup.
I say go for it. Flats are great.
Thanks YT! I've never done any setups myself so i'm a little timid to try although I know it's something that I really should learn how to do.
Is there anything I should be wary of?

I have a fender jazz bass with round wounds and I'd like to get a lower tone. I'm thinking of putting on some flat wounds but I've never used them personally (I've played a friends p-bass with flat wounds and liked it).
Has anyone on here done this? Pros or cons to doing it? I assume my Jazz would need to get setup for the flat wounds?

Great! do you guys have a myspace or anything online I could check out?

Hey Jay,
I play in a roots rock band called The Northwest Division. Our sound is along the lines of NY & Crazy Horse. If this is something you think might fit at your venue, feel free to contact us for a possible show.
Thanks!
