  1. I'll be there for sure. I don't travel like I used to and hometown gigs are an all to rare treat.

Glad to hear they're playing acoustic, It should fit the room better. The boathouse is a godsend for k-w but is definately small, more suited to acoustic ambiance in my opinion. I'm already excited.

    Cheers!!!!!

  2. Dave singing, now that is rare...

The last Albion show is 04.18.97. I have the first set as a soundboard which is great and an audience for the second set. Unfortunatley there is a fair amont of chatter in the aud which is really too bad as their is some truely inspired and unique playing. However the first set stands on its own just fine. I probably got the tape from Johnny so he might not have the SDB for the second set. Say hi to him for me, its been a while.

  3. Looking for to the next uploads. The very old and the very new!!!!!!

I love getting the acoustic shows for the variety. Great originals and covers in this set list.

The Albion show you posted sounds fantastic. There were always good sounding shows there. I forget the date, but their very last show at the Albion was Freakin Fantastic. I never had a complete copy of the soundboard but if you have it and are in a quandry about what to upload next......

  4. Yippee!!!!!

Thanks Greg. This is a fantastic Fatty show. Terrific songs played with energy and passion. The Sunday>Fatman>Weary encore just crackles with energy. The extra percussion really adds to the mix. I also agree that songs of this era were more structured, but given the quality of the song writing and the energy this is not a bad thing. Well worth the download if you like the Fatcats.

    Cheers

  5. Greg, I'll be at the Heuther in downtown Waterloo for a friends going away get together starting at about 5:00 until at least 6:30 or 7:00, possibly much longer but I really have no idea. The Huether is huge but apparently we'll be on the very top floor and I think there will be a fairly sizable group of us. I haven't had a chance to make a copy but I'll bring the tape and get it back from you whenever. Don't worry about not being there I'll still send it next week.

    Cheers

  6. Greg, this post is for you but others may be interested.

Good news... I found the 1997 tape from Laluna. I don't think I had listened to it in over 5 years, I had forgot how how great it sounds. Shannon really is something special.

I made a copy of this and brought it to the Fatty show at the Lanc hopeing to suprise you, but saw later you had missed your ride. I ended up giving the copy to Jay Schnider who happened to be out and was very keen to have a copy. However, no worries I can make another copy and send it to you. I was going to wait until the next Fatty show (I like surprises) but I don't see any posted and that might be a while.......... I know I had your mailing address but I'll need it again.

    Cheers

  7. They were definately called the other one. My first real "dead" experience was at an outdoor show in Uxbridge in '87 where they were the headliner. the scene and a few other things completley blew my mind. Kingswood shows followed shortly thereafter and nothing was really the same after that.

Days of you were my Fatcats of the early 90's. Lots of fantastic shows and energy. I remember the king fish show mainly for meeting Timothy Leary who sat at the next table to us for the whole night. He had a "harem" of very young women who seemed to be looking after him. About half way through the show everyone in the bar figured out who he was and he spent the rest of the night shaking hands...........

  8. Greg. I remember the show with the Harvestors opening and Gatch on Banjo. At the time I remember being blown away by how good the banjo sounded on absloute route. I did or do have a tape of this show with the Harvestors set as well. Finding it is the issue. We just moved and my tapes are in various bags in no order. Utter chaos. Do you remember the date of the show?. So far from Laluna in '97 I've turned up the following tapes but I don't think any of them are the show your looking for. 04/12/97, 09/23/97, 02/15/97. I might have lent the tape out to Jay Schnider but I can't remember. I know at the time he was interested in getting the Havesters set from me but I don't think he followed through. That was seven years ago so my memory is a little/lot sketchy. Anyway I'll keep looking for it and if I turn it up I'd be more than happy to send it your way. It would be the least I could do for all the effort you put into making music available.

    Cheers

  9. The other drummer at the Opera House was Jeff Cowell. He took over about four months after Adam left. Joel joined a couple months after Jeff and they were a tandum for about a year. There are some truly sparkling shows from this period. The Opera House gig was Joel's first electric show and almost didn't happen for him. He was still underage and they weren't going to let him in. Even though the band had a drummer they wouldn't play the show with out their new member and finally the Opera House(which was packed) backed down.

Jeff is now backing Shannon Lyon with ex Fatty bass player Jay Schnider. Shannon is lucky to have them, both are expetionally fine muscians.

    Thanks for sharing the music!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. I knew this was going to be an awesome combination of music and friends but I was committed to other plans by the time I found out. Please make this an annual event!!!!!!! Gatch> I had your niece in my class on Friday. She came in late and I asked her name. Once she said "Gatchne" I asked if you were related... "Ya he's my uncle" . I told her that it must be a genetic thing because your always late coming back from set break. (I couldn't really say why as most of the class was tuned in) I spent the next several minutes extolling the greatness of you and the Fatcats in front of the class ("your uncle rocks my world!!") I think she was rather embarrassed.

  11. The Who's "last" concert in 1982 at Maple Leaf Gardens. My older brother was less than impressed that I tagged along. I was in grade 9 at the time and they opened with my two favorite songs..... Can't explain and my Generation........ after that I hardly knew any of the songs they played.

  12. I second everything so far. Thanks Mark!! your shows always have that extra something special about them. I was glad to finally see the Mouse and the Dog Really impresssed me. Tremendous grooves. The Fatties were the best I've seen them with their new line up. I agree with Mark that Todd was brilliant this night. He should bring his parents out to watch more often........ They broke out some old school jams which was good to hear. Especially the As much as this> CRUELTY'S CURE> Maracas !!! Wow!!! Finally thanks again to Mark for playing Santa Clause at the end of the night slinging around free beer. I was getting really thisty but had no desire to wait another 20 min at the bar and not be able to dance and out of no where there is Santa... er ... Mark, Handing out beers. How perfect is that!!!!!!!
